  1. :help: Does anyone know of a fill Dr. who uses fluroscopy within 500 miles of Northwest Montana. I did my research and found a fill Dr. in MT but just found out he doesn't use fluroscopy and I would like my first fill that way. Thank you for your help:help:

Anyone in NW Montana with Lap-band??

I'm glad your doing well. I'm really struggling with eating bad foods. I've gained 4 pounds. I've discovered the bad way to eat around the band. I need to get back on the wagon. Take care. Sharon
  10. Hi, Just wondering if anyone in NW Montana would be interested in a support group? Sharon

Anyone in NW Montana with Lap-band??

Hi Connie, I live outside of Kalispell. It's about 13 miles from Martin City. It really is beautiful here but I grew up next to the ocean and miss it terribly. I've lived here about 19 years now. It's growing like crazy. Real estate has gone through the roof. Houses have more than doubled in my time here. Sharon

Hello Everyone, Sorry I haven't written in awhile. Kinda been down and out. I've been making really bad choices and then on top of that I ended up with knee surgery last Monday and have done nothing but sit and eat. I made the mistake of getting a fill in the am in March and thought it was enough but I think I could use a little more but by the time I come to GF with mileage, travel and fill it runs me around $ 325.00. I'll just save my pennies. I hope everyone is doing well. Sharon

Hi, How is everyone doing? I've been in a real slump lately. I haven't lost a pound in a month. I still have about 40 to go. I'm haveing a time with munching and sweets. Sometimes I think I should have more put into my band but I'm already at 2.5 and I know it's my turn to do the work. I won't be able to drive over from Kalispell for the meeting but please keep my informed on what the nutritionist has to say. I've been making excuses for exercise too. I really don't like it. But I need to. Well got to go. Sharon

Hi, Shawn, Yep I still get hungry. Tummy still growls. Although the other day I had gone 6 hrs without eating and had to remind myself I needed to eat. I try not to get really hungry because them I order everthing on the menu and when it comes I can only eat a small portions and end up throwing it away. I can't eat reheated meat. It makes me PB. I'm at the point now where my band is at it's limit (I could put more in but think it's not a good idea) so now it's up to me. I need to excercise more and be more careful what I eat. I still have about 40 lbs to go. I hope everyone is doing well. Is anyone going to the April support group in GF? Sharon

    Looking for Montanans

D, I live on the outskirts of Kalispell. I was banded 5/26/06 in MX. Dr. Roher does my after care. He's the only one in MT that will see a Mx patient. Dr. Hennessy is no longer available. I wish someone in Kalispell would do after care but most don't even know what it is. Take care. Sharon

    Other Montanans Out There

Hi Shawn, I appears the next support group is the first week of April and I will be on Spring Break that week so I think I'm going to come up from Kalispell and go to it. I'm on mushies right now with my fill but Tue. I get to go back on solids. It seems like the foods that give me grief now are the ones that got me heavy to begin with (cheeseburgers, fries) so it's probable for the best I can't eat them anymore. But I can still eat steak etc... I actually live about 20 miles outside of Kalispell but go into town about everyother day. I tried protien powder. Quickly discovered do not add it to hot material. Well I better go. Sharon

Hi everyone, I wished I had checked my email earlier so we could have met up in Lewistown. I was there for about 2 hrs. It was great meeting everyone at the support group. I wish I lived closer to I could attend the next meeting. You'll have to let me know how they go. I went in for my fill. I asked for another full cc (for a total of 3 cc's) but I couldn't keep water swalled down so he took out 1/2 and now I have 2.5 cc's. That seems to work. Terri and Shawn, I'm sorry I couldn't meet on Friday. With John's entire family living in the area, we didn't get done visiting until almost 8:30 pm. I really would have like to do something. Well I hope everyone is doing well. Sharon

    Other Montanans Out There

Hi Everyone, I'm not sure what time I'll be arriving in GF considering the weather and Terri doesn't get off of work until 6:00 pm so we thought we could all meet at the meeting and then decide where to go from there. I have to go into Lewistown on Friday so I would love to meet everyone on Thursday. I called the clinic to confirm the meeting and time. They said it's a go. They are located accross from Dr. R's office. See ya there. Sharon

The phone # is 1-800-227-0724 or 455-2814. How exciting to have more people come. See ya there. Sharon Shawn, I'm going to call Terri when I get into town. Then we can all meet. =-). Sharon

    Other Montanans Out There

Hi everyone, Terri and Shawn, I'll be in town on Thursday 3/1 and would love to get together. I'll call you Terri when I get settled. As for exercise equipment, I used to have tredmills, sit up machines, weights etc..... but they turned into clothes racks so my husband made me get rid of them. Now I do have a Tony Little Gazell that I like to use. I really enjoy walking though but have to wait for the snow to melt. We are getting sub-divisions that are paved that we walk in. I live in the sticks so paved roads is a huge bonus. The Benefis Bariatric Clinic in Great Falls is haveing a support group if anyone else is interested on the 1st of March. I'm trying to decide about how much to get for my 3rd fill. My band is already 1/2 full at 2cc's. Living this far out I don't know about .5 or 1 cc more??? Any advice? Talk to you later. Sharon

Shawn, It doesn't take long to see the Dr. I'd wait as long as you can before a fill. As long as your losing 1-2 pounds a week your doing great. I'm getting anxious about coming over. I think Terri is going to go with me to the support group. We should all get together and meet. Sharon

Shawn, I've heard of alot of people getting the VG band. What's the difference from the 4cc band? I think I waited almost 4 months before my first fill. As for the fill, the Dr. gives you a little shot of numbing medicine. Then he pulls out this huge needle (no kidding) and does your fill. Thank god for the little shot!! I'm coming to GF March 1st and 2nd for a fill. I spoke to his office and he said there is a support group on the 1st from 6:30-8:30 pm. I'm going to go. Then my fill appt. is on the 2nd at 9:30 am. Then I'm going to head home. If anyone is interested in going it would be great to meet everyone. Sharon

Shawn, Doctor's wont touch us because of liability from being banded in MX even though MX is much more experienced in banding then the US. Missoula is beginning banding but will only do fills for their patients so far. I tried everywhere is Kalispell. Most of the hospitals I had to explain to them what a lapband was. Not someone I want sticking me with a needle. So I'll just drive to GF for now. What type of band do you have? I have a 4cc Inamed. He charges $200 for fills. He does not do them under flouro unless there is a problem. He's pretty good at finding the port. I haven't had any problems. Sharon
