Thanks so much for your reply and taking time to answer my questions. You're right I do have some questions, if you don't mind. Did they allow anyone to stay with you overnight in the hospital? Do you recall what the doctor did for pain control? What shakes did you use pre-op? Optifast seemed a bit pricey. Thanks so much, sorry for all the questions. I'm so excited about this oppertunity. heschete, wow you are recent! Congrats!!

Hey all, I'm from Slidell and getting banded by Dr Warden. What did you guys think of the operation and after care? My mom is flying in to be with me and she wanted to know if she would be allowed to stay with me in the hospitol if they keep me overnight.

    Anyone getting banded in January

Hi Maureen, My pre-op diet is about 30 days. It changes a little day to day but the main idea is 3 shakes a day + 2 very small meals. The shakes are 190 calories and 14 grams of protein. The meals consist of 3oz of meat and 1 serving or either veg or fruit. The 24 hours before banding I am to have only clear liquids. While my pre-op is much more merciful than some, it is longer than most. The key, I believe, is to shrink the liver, and I've read that a low carb/high protien VLC, very low calorie, diet will do that. During the operation they will need to lift the liver to make the tunnel in which our bands will fit. I know the pre-op depends greatly on the doctor. Hope this helps.
  6. I'm a newbie here and I seen this post and just had to ask if any of you are experiencing nightmares or vivid dreams while on your pre-op diet?:tongue_smilie: I hardly ever dream and I didn't know if the experience I had last night will be something I need to prepare myself for. My pre-op diet is just a bit over 30 days long and I'm on day 5. Thanks

Hi all, This is my first post. I'm going to be banded Jan 19. Looks like a bunch of people getting banded the same day. Good luck all.
