    Slow Loser

I am considered a slow loser at 1-2 lbs per week. Basically that is average. I'm down about 60 lbs in 15 months. Just stay focused. It will take you longer but you will still get there!

    Really embarassed to say this...

Be very careful. Crackers turn into mushy so you are probably okay. But my doctor chewed me out big time when I told him I had eaten after surgery. You can rip out your stitches. Stick to creamy soups that seems to do the trick for me.

    Sipping through a straw

Caramel, I can sip through a straw very well. No problems here.

    Nausea question

Yes, it has happend to me. I brought it back up to my doctor just last week. He suggested I buy some Prilosec. It worked. I would try that first. YOu can take it once a day and it stays with you 24 hours.

    Worst/embarassing PB?

My worse experience is when I couldn't make it to the bathroom I puked back up into my clam chouder right in the middle of the restraunt. My husband just sat there amazed and couldn't believe his eyes. No one else saw me, thank God.

    Bye-Bye Band

Cindy, good luck with your sleeve. Sorry to hear about your current erosion.
  9. Mine took about 10-12 weeks. I had to do the nutritional, psych eval and bloodwork. My insurance originally denied me but because there were no bariatric surgeons in my plan they reapplied for me and I was accepted. Good luck.

    June 2007 Bandsters

Jo Jo, it is quite common to PB once you get stuck, especially if you drink to force it down. You are normal.

Need help with a realistic goal!

I think 20-30 lbs is realistic unless you are an average loser then I would say best 20 lbs. I think it is realistic though, especially to Christmas. Good luck.

I get banded and Trader Joe's opens up...

Darr, Trader Joe's is a great store with so many bandster choices. I have one not too far from my house too. Congrats on not giving into the temptations.

HELP! Should I Wait This Out

Strange. If you were at 2 ccs then stayed at 2ccs I don't see where the problem is. Maybe the stomach lining thickened around the band. I would give it a couple more days then go down to 1.8 or something close.
  20. That is exactly how much I gained in between fills. You will lose it once you start getting restriction.

    once a day

If you are concerned a out protein I would throw in a protein shake for dinner. Just try to get enough protein.
  22. YOu are doing great. Keep up the good work. Congrats.

I've lost 66 lbs so far

we almost have the same stats. I was banded in June of 06 and I'm down 62 lbs so far. I started at 282 and I'm 220 now. I still have 40 to go. Good luck.
  24. Hi there. I have been banded for 16 months. I have lost 62 lbs out of the 100. So I am considered an average loser at 1-2 lbs per week. I have not had any major complications. One time I couldn't hold down solids so with a slight unfill I was okay. The surgeon said that sometimes the stomach wall can thicken around the band tightening it. I do have a little nauseau from time to time so I take Prilosec. I just started on that today. Other than that, I love my band. 40 more lbs to go!
  25. I've been banded 15 months and have no trouble with bread. I just can't eat as much of it.
