I'm going to have to force myself to eat.
juliegeraci replied to anonemouse's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lauren, what you are experiencing is the joy of being banded. Often times I have trouble consuming 500 calories before dinner time. Make sure you have enough protein. Protein shakes really save me because it has 30 grams of protein with 1 cup of skim milk. I have 1 every day. Good luck. -
I love my protein shakes because they give me 30 grams of protein with 1 cup of skim milk.

Make sure what you eat is watered down. From the sounds of it you are still healing and may be swollen.

Sounds like you are too tight. I asked my doctor the question last week when I got my fill. He said there are too types of tighten. 1 is tight to liquids, the other is tight to solids. If you are tight to solids then move back to soft. If soft doesn't go down or keep down then you are too tight. You may want to give it a couple days but from the sound of it, you are too tight!

Yes, I have lost several fills when I lose weight. It is quite common. Just go back in for another fill. You'll get it back.

176 is fine. What size are you in? I'm 219 and would be happy at 180-200. I just want to fit into a 14/16. I am a size 18 now. 150 is too low. I would look anorexic.

You actually answered your own question with your post. "I can eat antyling/amount without any problem". With good restriction you can only eat 1/4 cup of food. You need a fill! Good luck.:clap2:

My doctor charges $200 both for a fill and an unfill.

A bandsters diet should be 800-1000 calories.
-
dab, be careful my dear. What you are describing is optimal fill level. I can only eat 1/3 to 1/4 cup of food at a time. You are describing me to the tee. I don't think you need another fill, especially if you are losing 1-2 lbs per week. This may be your sweet spot so be very careful. Julie

Maria, good for you. YOu will love being banded.

Banded And Fustrated!!
juliegeraci replied to REDGIRL's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try and stay to 1 cup of food 3 times a day until your fill. Go back for fills until you can only eat 1/4 cup of food. Good luck. -
I took Tues - Friday off and was back to work on Monday without a problem.

Painful eating after fill
juliegeraci replied to annielkd's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would give it a couple days to see if it subsides. If you can't eat solids then move to mushies to see how you do. The danger is when you can't keep down liquids. good luck. -
Still Investigating

It depends on your BMI. I would call them to find out. Mine was 40% at the time of surgery. 282 at 5'8" -
Hello! New here!..... Why do I feel this way?
juliegeraci replied to bparris's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
YOu will be fine, breath. I went through a ton of emotion during my surgery. Especially right before the surgery. I had a major meltdown. How did I get here. We all have our journey. I am just so happy to be banded now. -
NO, you should feel full on mushies. Start with tuna salad or chicken salad or potatoes. You will be okay.
-
No, you can get a fill now. Its about a 6 week wait. Just look for a fill doctor in your area that takes Mexico patients. Where do you live?

Thinking about having Lap Band surgery
juliegeraci replied to judie4800's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That is not true. My doctor now does 90% lapband as apposed to 30% 15 months ago. Do your homework. I would never have gastric bypass. -
Yes, I agree. Try and find a surgeon that can help you post band. It takes numerous fills to get good restriction. Good luck.

I've been banded for 15 months and I'm an average loser at 1 lb per week, total 62 lbs. I eat everything I want, just less of it. I drink coffee without a problem, even popcorn. The next 40 lbs are more difficult so I went in for an agressive fill today. Good luck with your decision.

Surgery Date is 10/9/2007

Lori, you are doing great. Just keep focused as to why you are doing this for yourself. The liquid phase will pass. I've been banded 15 months and love it. Good luck. -
How'd THIS happen...my fickle band?
juliegeraci replied to sherilynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine does the same thing. Last week I had 1/2 of a Togos sandwich then the next day I could only get down 4 bites of soft fish. Go figure! -
Girl, you need a fill. Go get one!
