How long have you been banded. What is the mushy recommendation from your doctor?
-
3.25 in a 4cc band should be fine. If not, go back in for more.

Am I the only bandster not losing?
juliegeraci replied to Liz1531's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Liz, what you are experiencing is completely normal. You don't have restriction yet. It took me 5 fills to finally get to where I needed to be. Once you get there you will not longer be able to eat larger quantities of food nor will you be hungry. I would go back in for a fill right away. Good luck. -
First fill and not hungrey AT ALL
juliegeraci replied to Ms. NYC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, this is one of the byproducts of having good restriction. It is quite common to lose your hunger. In fact, if you lose your hunger and can eat below 1 cup of food and still lose that may be your sweet spot. Good luck. -
You are okay. You can have anything that can fit through a straw. With that being said, creamy soups really helped me. They kept me full longer and since they had milk they had protein too. Good luck.

Questions from a newbie...
juliegeraci replied to peggy1011's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a 10cc band which holds 4ccs. I am at 2.9 right now. It took me forever to get proper restriction. Thankfully I still lose 1 lb per week. It took me about 6 or 7 months. -

It took me 5 fills to get restriction. Keep going back for fills until you have it. -

I was just curious how close to goal to get a tummy tuck? -
What are your questions and concerns?

It took me 5 fills to finally have restriction. I lost 1 lb per week until then and even gained a few in between fills.
-
5 lbs is nothing. If you feel comfortable in your body at 135 then stick to it. Good for you!
-
Good for you. What a nice thought.
-
Good for you. That would be so nice if they pay.

16 is my goal. I would be thrilled to get there! Good job. -
You look great. Keep up the good work.

kacee, that is fantastic news. I can't wait til I get under 200.
-
Snappy, everything will be okay. Right now its the healing stage. You shouldn't worry about losing right now. That will come when you start getting fills.
-
This is completely normal. What you want to consider is how much you actually are eating and are you losing? If you are losing 1-2 lbs per week and still eating normal at night consider yourself lucky. You may want a small fill if need be.

My sister works for a healthclub here in town and is going to offer the Bodybug to the lapbanders on here at a discount. Just wanted to see if anyone would be interested.

Not eating solids - For a LONG time~

800 calories a day is eating like a bandster. 800-1k is normal. 1200 is possible too. -
Hunger's Back! Will the fill work?
juliegeraci replied to danaclark2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, with proper restriction you will find hunger relief. Good luck. -
Do you count calories? Eat between 800 and 1k and you will lose.

What you are experiencing is normal if you don't have a fill. Keep in mind that it may take several fills before proper restriction.
