  1. I agree with Indigo. Sounds like you are too tight. You should be able to eat solid food and lose 1-2 lbs per week. Good luck.

Do I need a fill or not?

HI Leena, how much food can you eat at one sitting? Some people prefer to stay at a restriction level of 1 cup if they are still losing. In my case my restriction gives me about 1/4 cup of food at a time. How much can you eat?

    Too much restriction - ???

Warm liquids may help you in the a.m.

    Second fill later today

Dave, there is nothing like true restriction. Keep going back for fills until you have it. Good luck.
  5. Hi Butterfly, lapband is a slower process but from what I have read the threat of gaining your weight back is decreased by the decision to have lapband surgery. In fact, I have seen people go to lapband after RYN surgery because they have stretched out their stomachs. Just know that weight loss is a little slower. I lost 1-2 lb a week the first year. Its been a lot slower now for me. Chances are you will really lose well the first year. It may take you up to 3 years to lose all your weight though. You just have to be patient. Good luck to you. You will love the band.
  6. Hi Mary, it is natural to think that you have tried dieting and it hasn't work and can you give it one last chance. You will be fine.

Good for you. Waiting for insurance is a pain but it will all be worth it. Good luck.

    Getting Banded 11/15/07

Hi Missy, your port is placed just under the skin so he should be able to feel it no matter what. Yes, jello is a clear liquid. You can have anything that fits through a straw. Creamy Soups saved me. Good luck.
  9. Great article. Thanks for the share.
  10. Go back and get fills until you have good restriction. It took me 5. Good luck.

    Need some advice....

Anything that can fit through a straw.

    Hungry and not losing

Make sure you follow your doctors prescribed diet. It is really important for you to continue to heal. Don't focus on the weight loss as it will come once you start getting fills. I even gained 7 lbs between fills in the beginning. Good luck.

You are both doing great. I would sit him down and tell him how you feel and your concern.

    Strange question, I know

Yes, muscle has memory. Keep doing what you are doing and you'll be there soon.

    hanging in there

I filled up on soups big time. Your hunger will get better after you start getting fills.

    Coke drinking poll

Roxanne, recently I had the same thing happen. Carbonation really bothers my stomach now. I think it is an indication of restriction.

I Don't Know If I Can Do This

Nessa, you have to eat my dear. Try and keep your meals to 1 cup of food avoiding carbs. A baked potatoe will not kill you. In fact, they are really good during mushy stage. Make sure you eat a ton of protein. Cottage cheese and tuna salad is really good for you on mushy stage. Good luck.

Is this normal? Happened to anyone else??

What you are explaining is acid reflux. I would ask your doctor for some medication or start on Prilosec. Not sure how to spell it. Its an antiacid. Good luck.
  21. Try and count calories. When you have good restriction you should only be consuming 800-1k calories a day. If you can still lose on 1200 stick to that. Also, try and limit your meals to 1 cup size of food. Good luck.
  22. From what I understand there is quite a bit of vomitting and or more restriction if you have a slip. What you are experiencing is normal when you don't have a fill. Nothing has changed since your preop. You may still be able to eat a full size meal. I can only eat 1/4 cup at the max with good restriction. Therein lies the difference. Good luck.
  23. I'm 5'8" tall and I have no problem eating like a bandster. You will be fine.
  24. modspace, what you are experiencing is completely normal. Hunger does return as does the volumne when you don't have fills. It may take you several before you have restriction.
