Someone give me so good advice, PLEASE!!

Definitley sounds like you need an unfill. I think waiting 8 days is enough. -
It took me 5 fills to reach optimal levels. It took me about 6-8 months to finally hit my sweet spot. I lost 1 lb a week average during that time.
-
My first year I got filled an average of every 8 weeks. Now that I'm on my 2nd year I get fills and unfills about the same. I'm due for a fill now but want to wait it out through the Holidays. I currently maintain.

Gaining back weight; feel discouraged
juliegeraci replied to JenU24's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jen, you can do this. The first thing I would think about is your restriction level. Do you feel like you need a fill? -
What an idiot is all I can say. I love my lapband!
-
Get a fill! There is nothing like restrictrion.
-
Good restriction for me is when I can eat a few ounces of protein and not PB. Its all different for different people. Some people can eat a cup of food. For me its no more than 1/4 cup.

So basically it hurts to eat anything spicy and alcohol. I can't even drink a glass of wine without it burning. I am on Prilosec and he gave me a liquid today that is suppose to be a stomach barrier and also coat the esophogus. Is reflux a bad sign? I am very concerned. It isn't a sign of slippage or anything is it? I don't believe I am too tight. What are your thoughts? I will omit spicy and wine from my diet.

Dave, you are doing great! Keep up the good work.

Like I said for me its 1/4 cup. For Trish her sweet spot may be a chicken breast. If she is still losing 1-2 lbs per week then she should consult her doctor. My doctor says it is common with my restriction to only consume 1/4 cup of food.
-
I would do liquid for 24 hours, followed by mushies then solids.

Leena, the true secret of whether or not you need a fill is if you are losing 1-2 lbs per week. If you are and still eating a chicken breast good for you! That is always the temperature gauge.

fill cost w/problems plus emotional eating

Laura, my doctor charges for both fills and unfills no matter how close they are. You need to ask. -
Debbie, this is great news. Keep up the good work.

Why would my restriction just go???
juliegeraci replied to angiepUK's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, this is quite common when you lose weight. It is normal to have to go back in for fills. Sometimes it only takes 5-10 lbs before you need another fill. -
Make sure you drink plenty of protein shakes.
-
Reflux is a sign of being too tight. I would be very careful about that. Try and stop eating at 5pm and also add an antacid to your diet.
-
1-2 lbs per week is considered healthy and normal.

Lettuce can go down pretty easy. An entire chicken breast with veggies seems like a lot of food. I can typically eat 1-2 oz at a time. Egg whites and ricotta are considered soft foods so they go down easier. I would say because you can eat an entire chicken breast you need a fill. I can typically eat 1-2 cups of salad myself. Its the hard protein I'm curious about. I would try a fill. How is your hunger?
-
Cherub, I've been banded for 17 months. I've been at a stand still for a while now. I've only lost 65 lbs. I am waiting until after the holidays to go back up to 3.2 in my band. Typically I am a slow loser at 1 lb per week.
-
Lynne, keep going back until you can no longer eat like a horse at night. You will know the difference. It took me 5 fills. Good luck.
-
It is quite common to only eat a few bites. You need to ask yourself if you are satisfied and if your hunger is gone. Also, I start my day with a protein shake. It helps me get in 30 grams so when I eat like a bird I get my protein. Very important.

I agree with Jachut, I would go on liquids for 24 hours then move back to solids. BTW, when you have good restriction sometimes it is only a few bites!
