Make, I am SO glad I am not the only one who gets stuffed on 1/2 cup of food! Yes, 4 oz is enough.
-
I totally have first bite syndrom. Typically it leads me to a PB then I am fine. Don't be scared of it. You may want to try warm liquids first. Good luck.
-
Great job. I lost about what you did 14 months post op. 65 lbs is fantastic. Keep up the good work!

Suzzie, congrats on your weight loss to date! I started in a size 24 heading to 26 and now I'm an 18 on the bottom and 14/16 on top. You will be there soon. Good job on your weight loss to date!

Don't feel bad about Oprah. Obesity is a disease. WLS is so worth it. Good luck.

First fill of 5 cc no restriction
juliegeraci replied to MC Cindy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Cindy, I would give your fill a week. If you can still consume an entire plate of food it is time for a fill. Good luck. -
Casey, how much can you consume at once? If you can consume 1 cup and still lose you are lucky. In my case, I need to consume 1/4 to 1/2 cup to lose.

My 2nd fill am i suppose to feel hungry?
juliegeraci replied to Karen85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Karen, see how you do when you move to solid protein first. If you are still hungry and you can consum 1 cup of food you need a fill. It all depends too if you are losing on 1 cup. If you are you are lucky. If not, you maybe one of those like myself that needs to consume less thus needing a fill. Hope this helps. Julie -
Just keep in mind your insurance requirements.

I was bandedon a Tuesday and went back to work the following Monday without a problem. -
Dave, you are doing great. Keep up the food work.

1. To wear a size 16 again 2. To look more beautiful 3. Because I felt awful 4. Hated asking for a seat belt extender on the airplane 5. Tired of not being able to ride amusement park rides. 6. I wanted to be able to gain control. 7. I wanted to cross my legs again. 8. Didn't want to be winded going up a flight of stairs.

You are doing great. Just renew your faith daily in the band and it will come back to you. No more candy! -
Angela, I completely understand how you are feeling. There are 2 way to approach this. One is to count calories. Try to stay between 1k and 1500 a day. Bandsters typically eat 800-1k calories a day. The other way is to enjoy the food you are consuming right now and not worry about it. My doctor didn't put me on a post op diet. Without the band is is hard to lose weight. Be good to yourself and enjoy food right now if that is what you would like to do. Weight loss will follow. Good luck.

When Is Your First Fill After Surgery? I am able to eat more food now!!
juliegeraci replied to Summer87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Julie, there is nothing wrong with you girl. It really sounds like you need a fill. If you are hungry every hour or 2 that is a tell tale sign. How many fills have you had? How much can you consume? -
Agnot, would you consider marriage counseling? My husband and I are going on a Marriage Encounter weekend the end of February. They hold these all over the country. It is held by the Catholic church but they welcome every denomination. I had an affair on my husband almost 2 years ago. And while he was devasted we were able to put our marriage back together. I'm sorry that you feel so isolated. It sounds like you really need some healing in your marriage. Good luck.

Has anyone here ever done a marriage encouters weekend? If so, how did you like it?

Sashimi is sliced raw fish. Very high and protein and good for you too.

My hunger never really returned post op. I was able to follow the doctors post op diet okay. -

Hi Trish, I remember how excited I was year and a half ago before my surgery. I've been banded 18 months now so I'm doing really well. I've gone down 3 sizes so far. 1 more size and I'll be at goal. The worst thing about being banded is I now cannot eat spicy food. I also PB if I eat too much. Julie

Lisa, without a fill you should be able to eat a lot of food and be hungry. You need a fill. Most likely your surgeon will tell you to get one at 6 weeks. What you are experiencing is normal. I'm sure your band is fine. Please stick to the diet the remainder of the time. No more chunky soup. Eat creamy soups. Anything that fits through a straw. Good luck.
-
Yes, go on liquids the remainder of the day followed by mushies then solids.

Unfilled for the first time in 18 months

Dawn, the only suggestion I can give you is to count calories until you get restriction again. Also, try and keep your meals to 1 cup of food. -
I can not get this thing right UGHHHH!
juliegeraci replied to cookielover's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you can eat 1 cup of food and still lose weight that is great. For me I need to consum 1/2 cup of food. If you are hungry you need another fill. You are definitely consuming enough. The 1 1/2 cup plus 1 cup of green beans means you are consuming 1 1/2cup of food per meal. I would definitely get a fill. Good luck.
