    Horrible 2nd fill with vomiting

You are fine. You would know if it slipped if you had heavy vomitting. You are fine.
  3. juliegeraci

How long did you wait to get in for a fill?

Whisper, I can call on a Monday and get in during the week.

    Conservative Doctor

My doctor starts you are 6 weeks and will fill you every 2 weeks if needed.

    Encouragement

Kristine, congrats on the early restriction and controlled appetite. You are doing great!

    In A Predicament!

You must be very careful. I wouldn't lift more than 10 lbs if I were you.

1/2 leg left on the wagon!

Jacole, keep your eye on the prize and recommit. You can do it.

    Craving food and PB'ing

Mary, how much food can you consume? Do you need to slow down? There are 2 types of tight. Tight to liquids and tight to solids. If you feel you are too tight for solids and are not comfortable eating more soft foods then you need a slight unfill. If you can do liquids and no mushies you need a slight unfill. Good luck.
  9. juliegeraci

    did this happen to you?

Yes, the band can takes some time to show you restriction. If the vomitting persists I would get a slight unfill.

    How tiny is "tiny"?

    Yes, pencil eraser.

    Coke drinking poll

I asked Dr. Curry on this thread if it stretched the pouch out. He said there was no scientific evidence of that. I think the carbonation can just upset the stomach. In my case, it irritates it.

    post-op return to work

Yes, that is realistic. I was banded on a Tuesday and returned on Monday to a desk job too.

Cindy, you are doing fabulous. Congrats.

    Eating is a chore

It takes me forever to eat a meal. I vote for a burden.
  15. juliegeraci

What habits did you replace eating with?

I replaced my habit with drinking and shopping. Not good.
  16. juliegeraci

    Alcohol ?

I drink. The only downside is slower weight loss.

    Eating To Much???

I also agree with Wendell however. I wish I could eat a cup and still lose!

    Eating To Much???

My doctor gives me a big smile when I say that I can only eat 1/2 cup of food. If you get your protein in, which is most important, and can handle 1/2 cup then that is great restriction!
  19. juliegeraci

I need help with food !!

I eat everything just less of it! Your post op diet will be liquids then mushies then solids. On the liquid stage it is really important to get your protein in. I used protein shakes to supplement. On the mushy stage I enjoyed all soft foods and then onto solids.

    1st fill

I wonder if a numbing agent may help you? I never am sore after a fill. Good luck.

    4 weeks post-op and DIZZY!

I would go see your regular MD. Since you have lost 40 lbs you may need to tweak your medication.

    Surgery Date!

Congrats on your surgery date. It is so exciting!
  23. juliegeraci

    1st fill

Yes, gurgling is a sign of restriction. Did he use a numbing agent before the big needle? You shouldn't be sore.

    Anyone From The BaY???

Missy, that is actually a really good price! I think mine is more like $9k and $200 a fill no matter how many you need. I have spent a lot of money on fills! Good luck. Its exciting.

    Really scared

Gummiebear, I would try and cut your portions to maybe a 1/2cup and 800-1k calories a day. How much are you able to eat? Sometimes the pouch can get back to normal by itself. YOu also may want to go on liquids for a few days to see how you do. Good luck. I know you have done really well with the band.
