I am eating during 2nd dinner service...I am screwing up this BAND thing?
juliegeraci replied to cookielover's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Truthfully, I think you need a fill. You will still maintain your tightness in the a.m. but it should help you with your big meal consumption at night. That is just my belief. Good luck. -
Am I The Only Real Overeater In This Forum??
juliegeraci replied to rebandit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am an overeater, however with the band I have been tamed. I would love a big Mac though! -
only 1.2cc and i still vomit alot
juliegeraci replied to lyndsay72082's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lynsay, how is it when you eat a softer diet? There are 2 types of restriction. Restriction to liquid which is not good or restriction to solids. I would move back to liquids then mushies to see how you do. It will be up to you from there to see if you don't mind a softer diet to lose. -
Any problems taking Medications??
juliegeraci replied to NukeChik's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No problems but my pills are only the size of an M&M. -
My doctor doesn't fill under fluro unless you have a problem or something. He hits my port every time without a problem.
-
Teri, I love my lapband. I haven't gained any weight in a year and a half. I am considered an average/slow loser at 65 lbs. I would do it again in a heart beat. Good luck with your decision.

First Fill...and I can eat MORE!?!?!?!?
juliegeraci replied to NP1978's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jennifer, what you are experiencing is totally normal. It took me 5 fills and 6 months to finally have good restriction. You will get there, it just takes time. -
Paulax, how exciting. I am 35 lbs from goal so I can't wait.
-
58 lbs is wonderful. Congrats!

How did you get back on track?
juliegeraci replied to cnsdubie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mysterio, I would just think about how good you feel now. Make sure you get rid of all your bigger sized clothes too. Recommit today. Go get a fill. It will be worth it. -
Slippage, erosion....what?? I have no idea!
juliegeraci replied to mom2mygirlz920's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with mbz. I would schedule that for sure. Good luck. -
I guess that is what happens when you want the best...
juliegeraci replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
How exciting. I am jealous! I have 35 more lbs to goal but can't wait to have some ps. -
Trace, I am just curious. How expensive is your tt?
-
mom2denise, I would post another thread with the doctor's name to see if you get any posts on their experiences. How many lapbands has he/she done?
-
Yes, could be an overfill or you may be eating too fast or too big of a bite. I would change those things first. There are 2 types of tightness, tightness to liquids which is bad and tightness to solids. If you don't mind eating a softer diet and you still lose that may be okay. It is up to you. Good luck.

What is the 'rule' on beer?
juliegeraci replied to sniggle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
An occasional beer will not hurt. It is all a matter on whether the carbonation will hurt you. You just need to monitor it to see if you get heart burn or acid reflux. -
Not losing ... Just glad I'm not gaining ...
juliegeraci replied to Mrs SmartyPants's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When can you get a fill? They help a lot. -
3 Weeks after Surgery,
juliegeraci replied to Lynsay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lynsay, what you are experiencing is normal. Make sure you eat lots of protein to keep you fuller longer. Also, when you do get a fill don't be surprised if you can't feel restriction right away. It took me 5 fills and 6 months to finally get there. Good luck. -
For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
juliegeraci replied to BeacheeGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Chandatay, I am 1 1/2 years out and have only lost 65 lbs. I am 30-35 lbs from goal. You are an average loser. -
Feeling like I want to throw up
juliegeraci replied to abby1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Abby, one way is to use portion control. Most bandsters can eat a cup without a problem. If you feel like throwing up with a cup of food I would simply eat 1/2 of a cup. That should help. -
So Disappointed In Myself...
juliegeraci replied to lizzie_07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Elizabeth, what you are experiencing is normal. I gained 7 lbs in between fills. Go get your fill and if that doesn't help get another one and another until you find your spot. It took me 5 fills and 6 months to finally get there. Good luck. -
Kayla, my doctor said I could have anything that fit through a straw. That being said, creamy soups really helped me. I would ask him if you could have soups.
-
Substitute it with a protein shake.

If I'm going to fall off the wagon ....
juliegeraci replied to Mrs SmartyPants's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You did awesome! Isn't it wonderful to be in control. I eat McDomalds from time to time and I can only eat 1/4 go 1/2 of a childs size burger. Go for it! -
Hi Redbone, the phsyc eval was pretty easy. He primarily wanted to see what type of diet I have tried, to what extent, etc. He did ask me about my bi-polar ,which I am and it wasn't a concern. It was an easy process. Good luck. How exciting!
