About to have a nervous breakdown.
juliegeraci replied to kaninag's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wish you all the best. I really hope your insurance takes you! Best of luck. -
I totally understand. If you are not diabetic you should try zantac 150 first daily. Also, alcohol, spicy foods and smoking can cause more problems. I just stopped having mine. I had it for months. Good luck.

Lactose intolerant? What to drink?
juliegeraci replied to Liz1531's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Soy is your friend. Soy milk and soy protein. -
You should be able to get down 1/4 go 1/2 cup of food. If you can eat mushies but no solids then you need to make the decision on whether or not you need an unfill. It does sound like you do. Good luck.

Zantac 150 really works well for me. You should let your doctor know you are having problems though. It is a sign of tightness.

Congrats on getting your band! -
I was banded on a Tuesday and back to work on Monday.

Did anyone have nausea after banding?
juliegeraci replied to dna's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
dna, I had nausea for about 2 weeks post op then it went away. My doctor prescribed me an anti nausea medication and that did the trick. No worries, there is resolution. -
How long after a fill can you resume eating?
juliegeraci replied to Beverly1010's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
liquids, the mushies then solids. So 48 hours to solids. -
shifting of the band
juliegeraci replied to Rosalinda's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Rosa, it sounds like a slip. I would go in for a complete unfill asap. Your band may move back to position. Good luck. -
jomac, welcome back. You have done a great job since being banded and losing your baby weight. Good job!

Am I making protein shakes correctly?
juliegeraci replied to kimmi5207's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kimmi, I only put in 3 ice cubes so it will blend nicely and not be too chunky. -
I always have dinner done by 5:30. I hear the later you eat the more likely you are to have acid reflux.

I was fat my entire life until about 8th grade. I then started to eat better and exercise. Through high school I was an athlete. After high school I ballooned to 320. I've been banded a year and a half and I am now down to 218. I was 282 when I had surgery. It was the best thing I've ever done. Good luck.

You'll do great. The surgery was a breeze for me.

How exciting. Best of luck to you.

Slimfast type "diet" to go along with LapBand??
juliegeraci replied to LongingToBThin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kristi, just a couple things. If you get enough protein go for it. My doctor is in support of 2 protein shakes a day followed by a smaller dinner. Good luck. -
Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
juliegeraci replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dab, 100 in 3 month is awesome. And they say when you have that much to lose you should to RYN. You are proof the band works. Good for you and good luck to the other 200 lbs! -
Over $40, what a shame . Go figure!

Welcome to bandland!

Yes, in moderation.

does anyone here wear a gurttle
juliegeraci replied to lyndsay72082's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I do I wear Spanks which seem to do the trick. You can get them at Lane Bryant. -
That is wonderful! My goal is 185 which is still considered overweight. My doctor is fine with that. To be normal I would have to get down to 160ish which is too skinny for me. Good job! I am jealous!

do you eat when you're not hungry
juliegeraci replied to ladybug3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Don't eat if you are not hungry. You will not die. Welcome to lapband. -
There are multiple reasons as to why people get fills. 1. they are consuming too much. 2. they are not losing 1-2 lbs per week or 3. they are constantly hungry. If you feel you are doing 1 of these 3 then you need a fill. There is nothing wrong with losing 2 lbs per week. I would ask for a fill.
