    8 Days of Hell

I feel for you dear. Hang in there. I am sending my positive vibes your way!

    unhappy

Go back and get another fill until you can only eat 1/2 cup of food.

    Oranges

I have 2.9 in my 10cm band and I am eating an orange right now!

    Weakness

That is about right. You may be surprised and your hunger may not return for a few weeks. I would just make sure that you drink a lot of fluid and protein shakes to keep up your blood sugars.

Is The Fills Going To Hurt Less?

Does your doctor uses a numbing agent? Mine are never painful.

Terrible time with trying to get 1st fill

P.S. There shouldn't be any pain at all. My doctor always uses a numbing agent. I am sorry you were put through this.

Terrible time with trying to get 1st fill

Girlfriend, girlfriend. This is bull shit. My doctor will treat you down in San Jose for $200 a fill. He does them blind with ease. He may have to do fluoro if that doesn't work but he is awesome. His name is Robert McKeen at South Bay Bariatrics. I would call him and make the drive down. Good luck.

I am freaking out!! I need advice......

Shannon, this can be quite common. I lost part of my fills a few times. The first thing you should do is ask for omnipaque. Not sure how to spell it. Its a thicker solution they can fill you with that fixes small leaks. It is like fixing a flat tire. If you still lose your fills then you may have to have tubing replaced. Good luck.

    Weakness

Sharon, it will be very important to constantly drink throughout the day. Protein shakes don't do it for me and typically I am starving within 2 hours. How much time are you taking off of work?

Super tight, but only at night?

2 suggestions. An anti acid and don't eat later than around 5pm. Try that first. If that doesn't work you will need a slight unfill. This happened to a friend of mine and I believe .2 or .3 ccs helped.

    I don't get the doctor I've scheduled

No, my doctor always fills me. I would ask to see why not.

    Will I ever get restriction?

It took me at least 5 fills to get moving. What you are expecting is quite common. You shouldn't be starving. Go back for fills until you aren't as hungry and can only eat 1/2 cup of food.
  13. juliegeraci

    is this to much food?

Yes, 1 cup of food is quite normal at your stage. You will get to 1/2 cup of food when you hit the right restriction level.
  14. This is quite common. It is really important to try and get as much fluid and protein in as possible. Just try and sip all day long. Good luck.

Any one Gain wieght after loosing???

This is quite common. Lose, gain. When you start getting fills it will help.

I'm confused. Max fill volume 4cc

I too have a size 10 band and it holds 4ccs. Maybe there are 2 types of size 10 bands. I know one other one goes to 10ccs.

    Daily Calorie Intake

I try and stay under 1200
  18. Graham, the facts are the facts. The lapband typically is 62% roughly of your total weight loss. The stats for the bipass are 90% the first year but at year 3 its the same. I have exactly at 65% and have stayed here for quite some time . I have 35 lbs to go and it just doesn't want to come off. I do think you can reach your goal but it will take some determination including exercise, etc. on your part. Good luck. You can do it.

    Frustrated and disappointed

How many calories a day are you eating?

I'm 23 days post op and heading to hospital

let us know what happens. Good luck.
  21. Just be careful. I don't think you can slip your band if you cough. But I have pulled a muscle at the port site.

Ashlee, everything will be okay. Be grateful that you are covered.

    question about calories

    800-1k no more than 1200

Only 8 Pounds in first 2 months... :(

I am considered an average loser at 1-2 lbs per week. You may be in that category. I'm surprised they filled your band all the way on your first fill. You may want to question them on that as to what size band you have and the size of your fill. Good luck.
  25. Nauseau is quite common right after you get banded. My doctor prescribed and anti nauseau medication. You may want to check into that.
