    Coping with Body Image Issues

Love yourself no matter what weight you are. You are a child of God.

    Laser Lipo???

I have heard really good things about it. One of the names is Smartlipo. I hear there isn't as much dimpling that can happen and you are back to work within 1-2 days.

    Interview!

Let us know how you do. Good luck. P.S. Where do you go to school and what is your major?

    Time off from work

I am thinking 2 weeks plus 2 weeks telecommuting. Depends on whether or not you have a desk job. Either way I would say 2-4 weeks.
  5. Kat, that is fabulous. God if I could get to 186, that would put me in a size 14. You go girl! You rock. Let me know how you do okay.

    Is my plan realistic?

5 and a half months and 48 lbs seems realistic. That is just over 2 lbs a week. I think most PS will do surgery on you when you are 10-20 lbs from goal. I'm 216 and my goal weight is 185. My goal for surgery is 200. That would put me 15 lbs from goal. Let me know what your surgeon thinks.
  7. It sounds like you need a fill. If you can consume 3/4 to 1 cup of food that is too much. Go get another fill and keep going back until you can only eat 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food. However, if you are losing on 3/4 to 1 cup it will be up to you whether you want more restriction. You are doing very well on that level. Good luck.

Will I end up needing cosmetic surgery?

I am down to 216 from 320. I definitely will require a tummy tuck and a lower body lift with lipo. I go meet with the 1st surgeon on Tuesday. Good luck. Work out as much as you can. That does help.

    how did you choose?

For me it was simple. I didn't want my organs permanently mamed. I wanted something that was adjustable and removable. I also heard that you can't eat sugar and you dump. Those are 2 things I didn't want to experience. The lapband is a longer process but so worth it. Good luck with your decision.
  10. Mine was scheduled and submitted at the same time. It really helped to push it through. Good luck.
  11. I feel for you. I am 21 months post op and it seems I just reached my sweet spot 2 months ago. It took me 15 fills and unfills. Very frustrating. Just work with your surgeon. They can overfill past 10ccs too, probably at least 1 more. Good luck.

    Shapely Secrets

Has anyone ever used the Shapely Secrets 7 minute workouts. I've been doing it for 2 days and I am sore so I think it is working. Let me know how you did. I'm going to do it for 3 months to see if it will help me lose some inches.

    Shapely Secrets

The premise is working muscles on muscles. I have used it since Wednesday and have already lost 1/2 inch in my hips. It is the easiest workout I have ever done! You work your upper body with your abs, your lower body legs, butt and thighs, your triceps, biceps and shoulders and your face. Each circuit is 2 minutes with 3 body parts plus 1 minute on the face. I love it so much I just ordered her other lower body 7 minute workout to see if I can lose more on the thighs. You can order it online. Let me know what you think.
  14. We have almost the same stats. I'm 5'8 1/4". Currently I am 215-216. My doctor and I discussed a goal weight of 185. That puts me at a BMI of 28. I am not sure exactly what the surgeon will say on Tuesday. I am hoping that if I get down below 200 I can have the procedure. That would put me at a size 16 headed for 14. I would love to get to 165-175 which is my high school weight. I am totally happy in a size 16 however. My goal all along is to never diet again. I want to reach a healthy size that I can stay at without yo yoing again, if you know what I mean. I have heard stories that when you have PS you can lose quite a bit more afterwards. You will probably lose at least 10 lbs once the swelling goes down. How exciting! When is your surgery? I am hoping mine will be in the late Sumemr early Fall. Julie
  15. Hi Barbara, you may want to call your surgeon and ask them. Personally speaking my surgeon didn't have me do a preop diet so I was okay. That being said if you start now he may have you do one and may not count the time you spent on one. A simple phone call will help you. Good luck with your surgery. How exciting! julie

    fish oil?

My hairstylist noticed my hair was dry. She recommended fish oil along with a deep protein conditioner once a week. Hope it helps.

    I got the look...

F* them. Sorry to be so blunt. This is your body, your health and your happiness. If you want lapband surgery go for it. They forget that it is just a tool. It is hard work still. Good luck to you!

    Discouraged by Family

You truly must do this for yourself. That being said, I would invite them to an informational seminar. Obesity is a disease, a very serious one at that. There is no cure. Lapband is the safest weight loss surgery out there. It is definitely not the easy way out. My first 65 lbs were pretty easy to lose. Now I am working harder than every to lose the last 30 lbs or so. Just know that to be successful you still need to motify your eating habits, exercise, drink water and limit your alcohol intake. You will love your band if you follow the rules. Good luck to you. You can do this!

Next step in finding the real me

You look fantastic. How exciting this much be!
  20. Hi Kat, I am 5'8" tall. My LB surgeon and I set a goal weight of 185. That is still considered overweight at 165ish is healthy weight. I am currently around 216. My goal is to get to 200 lbs. That would put me at a BMI of 30 and 15 lbs from goal. Truthfully, my size goal is only 1 size from where I am. I am starting to get excited. I joined Weight Watchers Tuesday in the hopes of losing 20 lbs in about 2 1/2 months. That would put me at my goal in May. This is so exciting! What did you have quoted? How much was your quote?

    Is anyone stuck?

I have 30 lbs to go. The only thing that helped me was increasing my exercise and joining Weight Watchers. I dedicated 10 weeks to the program. My goal is to get down 15-20 lbs in those 10 weeks so I am close to goal. My goal is 185 and I'm 5'8". I want to be a size 16. I'm in an 18 right now.

    Already Getting Stuck?

Tortilla and bread can be very difficult. The best thing you can do is eat the size of a pencil eraser, chew really well and eat slowly. That is the only way not to get stuck. good luck.
  23. I totally understand how you feel. I miss carbonation, a big fat steak, a big Subway sandwich, food in general. I miss vegetable because by the time I eat my protein I don't have room. I don't miss seat belt extenders when I fly, my 24 jeans and stuff like that. You are not alone.

Warning: Keep an eye on your rings

Mine would fall off all the time. Its 5 carats so finally I took it off for a while. I found a great jeweler in town that sized it right in front of my eyes for $25. I was down 1.5 sizes.
