You are doing great. What a good steady rate of weight loss. 26 lbs since December is fabulous. Keep of the good work. Congrats on the restriction!

Abby, my MOm's friend lost over 100 lbs on Weight Watchers. She told me yesterday that even though she is a year out that she still shrinks with her exercise routine. Your body does get use to the weight and if you continue to exercise you will still lose inches. Hope that helps.

Hi Maincat. thank you for posting this. Often times we lose focus on just one area of weight loss. I also like the fact that I don't need a seat belt extender on an airplane anymore. I am almost out of the plus size sectionm of the store as well. Thanks!

Surgery was Friday 3-14
juliegeraci replied to lonestar5212's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on being banded. Just try and take it easy the next few days. Sometimes people are either hungry or lose their appetite. Either way is normal. Just try and stay on your postop diet the best you can. Try not to cheat. Just relax and take it easy. -

Dr J Lo -brachioplasty results - not happy
juliegeraci replied to EugeniaM's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
wow, you had a lot to remove. I wonder if that is why he couldn't do much more. I don't have that much to remove so we are going to have an incision just under my arm and not down the side of it. Truthfully speaking, you need to follow your God given intuition on this one. I would go to the other plastic surgeon and show him the results and ask for a 2nd opinion. Don't be afraid to have your TT done with someone else if you feel the need. He may also lend you an ear on how to revise your arms. Best of luck to you! Good job on your weight loss. -
Is plastic surgery the answer?
juliegeraci replied to ginger12/26's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I've lost 105 lbs and there is no way that exercise will remove my sagging stomach. I think they call it a pannus when it hangs down. I spoke to the plastic surgeon last week and she said I looked great given the fact that I have lost so much. Thankfully my back side looks good so all I need is a TT, BA with lift. Also, there is no way my thighs can improve either. I can still lose inches but the skin that hangs down on my inner thighs are gross. The only way to remove that is having a thigh lift. I figure at the end of this I am going to spend probably $$20k - 25k the price of a new car on my body! Wish me luck! -
Can't give up COFFEE!
juliegeraci replied to abeaher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Speaking of Starbucks. I got really hooked on the green tea frappacinos. I loved the Venti ones because it kept me full for so long. That being said, I had to give them up because of the calories. I think they have 600-800 calories in them. I saw a tv show recently that introduced a new book on substituting foods. They said that a Venti Strawberry Cream Frap from Starbucks as 1200 mg of sugar in it. As much as 6 ice cream bars. That is why I choose to now have the skinny cinnamond dulce. Its 250 calories but keeps in in my day caloric intake of 1k. I lost 2 lbs this week giving up the green tea frap. -

You are fine. Truthfully from your list I think you did pretty well considering. Just go back on your post op diet today. Slips are very rare, you are okay. -
You are fine. I am really glad the food went down okay. That is a very good sign. Just stay on truck until day 21. You haven't slipped your band or anything as you don't have restriction yet. Good job getting back on track and being honest. I did the same thing early banding.

Disappointed in co-worker; sorry I told people
juliegeraci replied to nymoosic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry this happened to you at work. You are right to feel this way. Being obese is a disease and if surgery helps with that whether its elective it is surgery. You are doing so well. Just keep focused on your weight loss and success. One day you may wake up and not care too much about the Sunshine Club, or better yet the people involved in the club. I am sorry this happened to you! -
Had first PB this weekend...in public too!
juliegeraci replied to MistyDTX's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OMG, I have had so many PBs in public. My worse one was at a restaurant. I couldn't make it to the bathroom in time and I PBd back into my soup right in the middle of the restraunt! Thanksfully no one was that close by to see me. I also had one at my son's baseball game yesterday. PBd all the way to the bathroom from eating a sandwich too fast. One guy did see me puking. lol -
PS-My sister doesn't approve. I need support! Please help.
juliegeraci posted a topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I talked to my sister tonight and she is totally against PS. The most she has lost is 60 lbs. She could totally use a TT BTW. Anyway, my stomach hangs over my thighs, my thighs hang and droop, my boobs are almost an A and sag and my arms have excess skin. She says its the easy way out! So what if I spend $20k on my body. I use to weigh 320 lbs for Christ Sake. I am so sick of opinions. I am so ready for a transformation. She has never lost 120 lbs before! Someone please make me sane for wanting this! -

Whats the lead time for your fill appointments?
juliegeraci replied to NukeChik's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can typically call and get in the following week or later in the same week I call. He fills every 2 weeks after your initial fill. -
Will pureed chicken help hunger?
juliegeraci replied to cantweight2go's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weight loss will come after you start getting fills. For now, try and fill up on lean proteins. Chicken chopped up finely, fish is soft, chili is soft, creamy soups, etc. Good luck. -
nauseas for week already
juliegeraci replied to utahband's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was really nausceous my first month after being banded. The only thing that helped me was anti nauseau medication. You may want to ask for some. It comes in a liquid. Good luck. -
How does it feel when out with frieds

I still party a lot. It has slowed down my weight loss since I love to drink. I just eat so much less but drink the same. Oh, those empty calories! -
How has the Lap Band impacted your marriage or relationships?
juliegeraci replied to sphynxmomma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Heather, my life has changed a lot. I am very happily married. My husband is very supportive. More supportive then I could even imagine. He wants me to be happy and also supports me with my plastic surgery indeavors. Our sex life is much better given the fact that I have lost 105 lbs. I am more self confident, enjoy buying clothes etc. I know it will change again once I get my plastic surgery. I am sure it will only make me feel that much better and enhance our lives as well. I am also very successful with my career which is not new. I enjoy seeing all my friends at work and updating them on my progress. Every time I see a team member they always comment on my weight loss which feels very good. I have only positive things to say about my weight loss and the relationships they have affected. Julie -
I saw a recent picture of Carnie Wilson today on tmz.com and couldn't believe how much weight she has gained. She looks like she is 220-240 again. I feel so sorry for her. My doctor said that bipass patients typically gain back 25% of their weight in the first few years. I am so glad I have the band!

Hi Mommi, yes, this is 100% for me. I am so excited. I am 10 lbs away from having plastic surgery. I am very motivated to make this happen. I don't have the cost yet as they are mailing me the quote. How much did your TT cost? Was it extended? julie -

Karey, how much did you TT and BA cost? That is the first surgery for me. The 2nd is a thigh lift and arms. Thank you both for your posts. I fit into size 16 pants today and couldn't be more thrilled. The overhang on my stomach is so bad that it pooches underneath my tops. I can't wait until that is gone! -

salsa, thanks for the post. You are so correct. The pannus that I have only gets worse when I lose more weight. It hangs down near my crotch! There is nothing I can do as far as exercise goes. I am still really excited. Even if it costs me $20k in the long run in life that is not much. Thanks for the support. Julie -
With the lapband weight gain is typically a lot less due to the fact that it is adjustable and you can always go get a fill.
