  1. 1k-1200 calories a day you should lose at least 1-2 lbs per week, possibly more. Eat high protein, low carb and vegies. You can do it.

    Afraid of getting saggy skin

laniayala, I would be happy to post. Look for my thread online in early May. I am really happy I met with a second surgeon. I guess my thighs aren't as bad as I thought so he is lifting me from the top of the thigh opposed to the inner thigh scaring which runs down the entire inside of the thigh to the knee. He is also doing lipo of my thighn, inner and outer and my knee. JulieNYC also had a thigh lift, but she has the scar that runs down the entire thigh. Her thighs were much worse than mine given the fact that she lost 150 lbs. Julie
  3. If you are on solids go for it. Most likely you will not be able to finish both steak and lobster though. For me lobster goes down a lot easier. Have fun!

Hey Fab Forties -- new & a question

Reflux is a sign of being too tight. There are only 2 recommendations. First Prilosec and second is a slight unfill. The unfill is the only thing that worked for me .3 ccs. Julie

    Advice please!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would ask your surgeon. That being said he may have had to put in the larger band due to the size of your stomach. It holds 10ccs. Makes sense if you don't have restriction at 6 ccs. good luck.
  6. Its confusing. I have a size 10 band as well. I am not sure if its 10cc or 10cm but mine only holds 4ccs.
  7. Hi Kat, Wanted to know how your plastic surgery stuff is coming along? I met the best plastic surgeon last week. I am so glad that I got a second opinion. I go in on 4/21 for my TT and thigh lift. He doesn't have to make an incision down my entire thigh but rather just at the top. That is what sold me on him. How is your insurance approval coming along? Julie

    Dr. Huacuz for Tummy Tuck?

do some research on thigh lifts. I was told by one PS that the incision would be straight down the inner part of my thigh to the knee. I went with surgeon #2 because he is tucking it up instead of over. The only incision I will have will be at the upper part of my thighs across. Good luck.

    Afraid of getting saggy skin

I've lost 100 lbs and I'm definitley in the need for a tummy tuck and thigh lift. I go in 4/21 for these procedures.
  10. I totally get it. I was eating a lovely dinner at a Seafood restraunt and bam it hit me. The bathroom was too far so I PBd big time back into my clam chowder right at the table! Thankfully no one was sitting close enough to see. On another thread there was a woman who ate scrammbled eggs at the Cracker Barrel and while running to the bathroom PB'd into a little girls ponytails who cut in front of her in the bathroom! Talk about funny. You are not alone. Along the side of the road, in a restruant, etc. etc. It can happen anywhere!

    Clear Liquid Pbing...need Help

It is not good to PB only on liquids. If you were to take in soft foods and do okay then its up to you to stay at that rate. Given the fact that you PB on liquids I think it would command a slight unfill. Be careful not to have a slip.

Help! Im Dying W/ Severe Heartbrn

There are only 2 solutions to reflux. First is an unfill (which is more likely) and the second is medication Zantac or Prilosec. I had to have an slight unfill .3 ccs.

35 lbs from goal - my journey

My plastic surgeon said it was time! I am going in for an extended tummy tuck and thigh lift on 4/21.
  14. I have lost 65 lbs since being banded and 40 preop for a total of 105 lbs. I weight 220 today at Weight Watchers. My goal is 185. I started weight watchers because my band was too tight and I had a hard time eating solids. Recently I had .5 ccs taken out and now I am starving! I am hoping that with WW I can lose the rest of my weight. My surgeon is very happy with my decision to join. Julie

    Meat measuring

Confusing I bet. If the package says 4.5 oz then I would measure it as uncooked. Other than that, all protein on fitday for example is measured cooked. Hope that helps.
  16. If you can't find one on google, you may want to go to Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. At least that way you know they are certified.

    Lap-Band Side Effects

Heartburn is definitely one of them. I often have to take Zantac if I want to eat something that is spicy. I use to have reflux until I got a slight unfill. I would say PB/vomitting is the worse side affect that I have. I do that a couple times a week.

    Weight Watchers and LB

I did really well on WW the last 2 weeks. I lost 4.5 lbs. The important thing for me was to eat 20 points per day which is 1k calories. That plus the bonus points it comes out to 1250 calories a day. Protein acutally isn't that many points. 1 point per lean ounce. That is nothing. If you want high protein you may want to do the Core System. With Core you can still have a bake potatoe and brown rice I believe, even whole wheat pasta. Good luck. WW works.

    Small Victories

I remember the first time I rode on an airplane and didn't need a seat belt extender. I remember feeling the same way. Great NSV.
