Can hardly get anything in...
juliegeraci replied to Braven05's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The best thing you can do is sip all day long to try and get in as much protein shakes as possible. Once the swelling goes down you will be okay. good luck. -

40 lbs preop and 68 lbs post op. Total 108 -
I went shopping this weekend and bought the cutest tankini that was a size 16. When I have my TT an thigh lift I may be the size of a 14 but not sure. My surgeon is really supportive with 75% of my excess body weight being loss. Its okay to be a size 14/16 and 5'8" Here are my before and after pictures. I down another 15 lbs from this pics and 1 size.

I am totally fine wearing a bikini top with a little skirt at size 14 or 16. I look good for my frame and although I am 30 BMI I look good and my doctor supports me. There is nothing wrong with having a little meat on your bones. That is coming from someone who use to weigh 320 lbs!

juliegeraci replied to kareyquilts's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hi Karey, I am so happy. Let me tell you. There is another thread out there that keep telling me that I am not at a healthy weight. I am totally fine in a size 14/16 and 200 lbs. My surgeon is totally happy with me. I have lost 75% of my excess weight. Who cares if I'm not a size 12! I am so stoked. I bought a new size 16 tankini this weekend that is so cute. After surgery I may go down to a size 14 and I'm totally fine with that being a 5'8" frame! I don't need to be in the norm! I am fine with that. I use to weigh 320 lbs! -
Girlfriend, I have so been there. I have been as low as 164 and didn't feel quite right. That being said, I am so happy at size 16 and a BMI of 30. That puts be at 75% of my excess weight being loss which my surgeon is very pleased with. I am very happy at that 200 lbs. Julie

Hi Jachut, I am fine being overweight on the BMI scale. I have struggled to maintain 165 before and am perfect fine with a 14/16 frame at 5'8". More power to you! My surgeon is fine with my goal weight too. Julie

Amy, how are you doing? I have my surgery scheduled for 2 weeks from today. I am a bit nervous. I bought a size 16 tankini yesterday that is totally cute. I might be as low as a size 14 with my thigh lift but for today I am fine with a size 16. Julie -

First Plastic Surgeon Visit!
juliegeraci replied to crispypanda's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Just to compare my PS was $11,500 for extended tummy tuck. $10k for breast augmentation and lift and $86000 for thigh lift. Very important that you shop around. Good luck. -
You order it at the sushi restraunt. I order Maguro (tuna) and Hamachi (yellow tail). Its raw fish. Very high in protein and soft for the band. I typically order it with a side of rice. So when I take a bite of it with the rice it is just like sushi but goes down easier. That is how I eat at Japanese restraunts.

I do much better on sashimi.

Fill costs and insurance, Is it covered?
juliegeraci replied to LiveLifeAgain's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The best advice I can tell you is to verify with your insurance company. My fills cost me $3500 over the last 18 months and just recently they were covered because my surgeon's office pushed for a gap exception since there were no in network providers. -
Some Banders I met online Discouraged me :(
juliegeraci replied to a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You have to be realistic when it comes to the lapband. 1-2 lbs a week is the norm. That being said if you keep your calories low and exercise you can lose more quickly. Good luck in your journey. -
How did you decide on a goal weight?
juliegeraci replied to tonyahebert's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tonya, I am currently a size 16/18 at 5'8". While most say 165 is a good weight me and my surgeon agreed that size 14/16 would be good for me. I may be 200 lbs and not the standard 165 to get there. He agreed to write me a note to Weight Watchers so I could become a lifetime member. Its all about size as far as I'm concerned. Julie -
Compression PS garments - does the surgeon supply?
juliegeraci posted a topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
At your preop does the doctor measure you or something for the compession garmets with a tummy tuck? I don't want the hassle of trying to find one. Thanks. -
Funny, I'm 5'8 and not even 5'10 like her and I weigh almost 200 lbs and in a size 16. My goal is a size 14 which my doctor supports. I am still overweight and on the obese side but I look fabulous. I would kill to be a US size 12. More power to her.

Definitely Dress Barn for Woman. They always have a nice selection. Good luck.

juliegeraci replied to juliegeraci's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hi Kat! Any luck on your surgery date yet? I bought a tankini. So it is like a bikini but covers your stomach. You should check them out. They are really flattering. Can't wait to get the bikini though. Julie
