Help! Need a Kick in the Butt
juliegeraci replied to caffyphu's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Warrior55. 100 lbs is very doable with the lapband. As far as the diet goes, you can eat everything just less of it. Good luck in your journey. -
What are you doing with all your clothes?
juliegeraci replied to NotABuckOFive's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I gave mine to a friend, Goodwill and my mom took them to her Weight Watchers meeting to give them away. I probably have donated 10 bags of clothes over 2 years. -
Boo Boo Kitty's PS Journey
juliegeraci replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I hope you are feeling better soon. When I had my PS 4/21 it really took me about 2 weeks to feel back to normal. I am still slow on my feet and like to rest a lot. 4-6 weeks is just about right. post when you are feeling better. -
Thinking about it..............
juliegeraci replied to Calif_Princess's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The actual lapband surgery was really easy. The only side effect I had was the port site was sore. My approval, consults, EKG, etc. took about 8-10 weeks or so. I too tried every diet out there. My highest weight was 320. I had lapband surgery at 285. The lapband is a tool so just be aware that the harder you work the faster you will lose. It takes a few fills to get restriction so you have to be patient. 1-2 lbs a week is the norm so you need to know that. Some people lose a lot faster but it depends on how much you exercise, etc. As far as constipation goes, I didn't have it. I would take a laxative a few days after surgery if you can go. Good luck in your journey. -

Its time to face the truth about your health and well being. The Nutrionist will work with you to improve your eating habits. I would be honest. You didn't get this way overnight. Good luck. -

Congrats on getting to goal. I am 10 lbs away from goal right now so I can understand how exciting it is. Way to go! -
I would go back in for another fill and keep doing so until you have good restriction. I have heard people need anywhere from 6-8ccs in a 10cc band.

$7500 is really reasonable. My tummy tuck was over $11k. Good luck.

Sweety's Tummy Tuck/mastopexy
juliegeraci replied to Sweety's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Congrats on your scheduled tummy tuck. I just had one on 4/21 and I love it. Good idea going on vacation beforehand. I am 3 weeks out and it is pretty tiring. Good luck! -
PS before or after getting pregnant for a 2nd time?
juliegeraci replied to Raerae's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I would have the lapband first, get pregnant then lose again, the the tummy tuck. You will definitely stretch out your stomach and might even damage the muscles when you get pregnant. Good luck. -

Well my drain fell out on its own. The stiching came lose and it started to fall out so I took it out. It left about 1/4" hole but it will heal. I go see the doctor tomorrow to take my other stiches out where the other drain was and the stich on my chin where he did the lippo. I love my tummy tuck! -

HI Steph, yes I am still wearing the binder. I plan on wearing it until I go to Hawaii on 6/16. That will give me almost 2 months in it. The drain is a pain in the butt. I am still bleeding out 50-75 ccs every 24 hours. He is taking it out on Monday. -

Steph, glad you are doing okay. I finally get the last drain out on Monday. I can't wait. -
Kat, you will love your tummy tuck. It is so nice not to have a pannus and rashes anymore. Just take it easy the first couple of weeks and you should be okay. I finally get my drain out on Monday so wish me luck.

Hi Everyone. Monday will be 3 weeks. I still have one drain in but will be getting it out on Monday. I shower now a lot with my bathing suit top on with the drain attached to it. I am very happy with the surgeon. I do still have a little belly fat but for the most part my stomach is flat. The thigh lift was good. I still have some loose skin but not too bad. I am now at goal. I go in next week for a slight fill so I will not be as hungry. I want to lose 10 more lbs. -

Hi Laniayala, I am doing really well. Still a little bit tired. The last drain is a pain the rear. Hope to get it out this week. The bruising is going down slowly but surely. I love my new belly button. It looked a lot higher but that was because he cut off all the fat. He actually positioned it to where it use to be so he really didn't need to redue it. I am going to get my belly button pierced in June. I can't wait! -

Does everyone get a shot in the stomach?
juliegeraci replied to MissieLyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only shot I get is when I get a fill. He shoot me at the port site with a numbing agent. Haven't heard for a shot in the stomach. -

Just wanted to give you all an update. I am now 2 weeks post op. I still have 1 drain in. I am bleeding out 75 ccs still. I need to get down to 30 ccs to have it removed. I hooked my drain to my bathing suit top last week and took a shower. Its amazing how much hair grows on your legs in 10 days! I am 10 lbs from goal. I lost 8 lbs since surgery. 6 of those were abdomenal fat. At first I didn't lose but I guess its because of the surgery. Now the scale is finally showing it. I'll post some pics after I get the drain removed. I am thrilled with the outcome so far. My goal was never to get skinny after banding. I just wanted to get to a healthy weight. I was a size 14 in high school but it was really hard to maintain. I am now in a size 16 and happy. I just want to get to 199 on the scale which is about 12 more lbs. Thank you all for your posts the last 2 weeks. I felt like a hermit so it was nice to come here to talk to my friends! -
Were you unfilled before your PS?
juliegeraci replied to Frangipani's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My doctor recommends an unfill of .5. I went from 3.2 to 2.7. I did gain about 7 or 8 lbs within a 2 week period. I have taken that off now since my surgery on 4/21. The only advice I would give you is if you do get an unfill wait until the very last minute before surgery. That way you will not gain any weight. Best of luck to you.
