Beware of BElighter!!! No kidding.
juliegeraci replied to ndbeekeeper's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congrats on the surgery. You handled that beautifully. I would have totally freaked out! -
I feel like I am having a Heart Attack!
juliegeraci replied to cherg's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had the same feeling and it turned out to be Acid reflux. I took Pepcid Ac one night and Zantac the next. It went away over night. This could be what you have. Good luck. -
OK HERE is a dumb question for the banded.....
juliegeraci replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You should be fine with that timeframe. You can't even feel the band or anything after a few weeks. The port site does stay a little sore so with a safety belt you may feel that on the ride. Other than that, go have fun. We are planning a trip to Disneyland in August and I'm newly banded in June. Enjoy! -
Now I'm having second thoughts....
juliegeraci replied to New_Bander's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is all normal. I had a major breakdown 2 days prior to surgery so I understand where you are coming from. Just take it slow and once you have surgery you will have an entirely new outlook. Although I've just lost 12 lbs since June 6th I know my old eating habit sometimes still get the best of me. Exercise is another subject. We all need support and understanding and I know that this takes time to understand the band and to allow ourselves the will to use it the way it was intended. Good luck. -
Frustrated - Looking for Support
juliegeraci replied to Irish Girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I understand where you are coming from. I'm only new and banded for 3 weeks but the weight loss has stalled. I'm hoping after my first fill I will start to lose again. Keep the faith and like me I'm sure you need to exercise. That is the hardest part. -
Mine was more like a golfball feeling that ran into my esophogus. It went away overnight when I took Pepcid AC and Zantac.

Naked. You dress down to a gown only, including no jewelry. So they take everything off of you when you are under. You don't remember it so don't worry. They've seen it all. No catheter for me.

Yes, eggs/egg beaters are considered mushies. Make sure you don't overcook them so they become hard.

I LOVE the bullet. You can buy it on line or infomercials. It is great for single serving and comes with a bigger blender. Perfect for lapband patients who want a small portion blended. Highly recommend it.

Do You Still Have Your Gall Bladder?
juliegeraci replied to mslynn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had mine removed after the birth of my 2nd son 5 years ago. I had gall stone stuck and they had to go down my throat twice. I had a severe attack and was hospitalized for 4 days. -
Like Kathy, I agree. I didn't have acid reflux before the band and then I had a small bout of it afterwards. I used Pepcid AC one night and Zantac the next and it went away really quickly. The only thing I could think of was I had acid in my stomach because I was on liquids and it went up to my pouch (new stomach). It felt like heartburn and a golfball feeling but DID go away. Best of luck on your upcoming surgery. Best thing I ever did. Good luck.

Shantell, make sure you are getting enough liquids in. My surgery was June 6th and I ate a lot of protein shakes along with jello. Just sip them slowly. This should help. An Asure and veg broth probably isn't enough. I would up the calories and spread it out more.

New Arrivals, Let's get to know each other!
juliegeraci replied to zexxah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm new here. I was banded on June 6th. I'm down about 12 lbs so far. There is a lot to learn from everyone so its nice to have this forum. -
Thank you for the information. I too feel like I need a fill. I am scheduled for July 17th. Talk soon.

I have a feeling that I'm going to be a slow loser. I think I'm down about 1/2 lb since my last weigh in. My metabolism is sluggish and yes, I need to increase the exercise. Count me in on this thread.

Its just sad, just send out a little prayer. Sometimes parents think they are helping when in fact they are not. I can't give any other advice because this is just sad, very sad.

Diane, I understand where you are coming from. I think it is the ebb and flow of weight loss and fitness. LIke me, we just need to stay on the right track and keep our motivation up. I was exercising like a fool before surgery but my weight wasn't flexuating. Now that I am banded I am having terrible motivation problems. Probably playing old tapes in my head doesn't help the matter. Good luck, baby steps and one day at a time.

GFG Club - Guess Funny's Apron Weight
juliegeraci replied to PhotoNut's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good luck Funny. I have an apron too so hopefully I can have mine removed at some point. Good luck! -
I love this board, it is so inspiration. I would like to request another prayer for the sale of our commercial property. Its being bounced around by 2 potential buyers and we need to get an answer and fast. I pray that God will see this through until the end. Thank you all.

I split mine with a pill splitter I got a longs. I asked my doctor first if these could be split so make sure you do that prior. Some of the drug chemistry does not allow them to be split. Good luck.

juliegeraci replied to christy668's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You look great. Are you exercising yet and did you get your first fill? I had surgery on June 6th so I'm just curious as to what other newbies are up to? Was all your weight loss post op? -
Hi Everyone. I was banded on June 6th and so far I am down about 12 lbs. How many of you feel like you need a fill already? Just curious.

I got a date & how long did it take for a yes or no?
juliegeraci replied to Time to love me's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
After I received my surgery date they seem to act a lot quicker. Mine took about 2 additional weeks after I received the date. Hope this helps. Good luck. -
Does LapBand Do Damage/Dent Stomach After A Certain Amount of Time?
juliegeraci replied to ItsGottaGo!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
There is another thread on Lap band complications where Dr. C answers that question. Basically the answer is "no". There may be an indentation made in the stomach but for the most part it returns to normal after removal.
