    Housecatgirl banded!!!

Laura, congrats on your new band. YOu will love it.
  2. I was banded on June 6th and I was happy to report a 12 lbs weight loss just 1.5 weeks later during my checkup. I have my first fill on July 17th but the weight loss has stopped..I mean stopped. Tomorrow I am recommiting myself to the gym to see if I can raise my metabolism. I'm just stuck on the fact that I do eat so little and its not showing. Any advise. I hate this sinking feeling.

Need of support - not losing

Thanks Molly. I know I am in a rush to lose the weight. I just want this sooo bad and I see other people on the site that have lost a ton in such a short amount of time. I know I have to be realistic and that I didn't get to this place overnight. I really appreciate your input.

    Star Jones

Thanks, I'll watch that. Thought it was interesting that she left the View as well.

Need of support - not losing

Yes it does help. I'm not sure how many calories a day I take in but today for example I had a 200 calorie protein shake, about 3 oz of chicken and 1/3 c of rice for lunch and another 3 oz and broccoli with light mayo for dinner. I know there are online tools available to help me count calories so I think that is what I'll start doing tomorrow. I'll keep the faith.
  6. Definitely follow what your doctor says. Mine only said 2 weeks of liquids then mushies then solids. Good luck.

    Nsv--wow

Good job! That sounded like so much fun. I can't wait to be able to buy clothes in down sizes.

    I Reached My Goal !!!!!

I am stunned you lost so much so quickly. Do you exercise? What has made you successful.

    A bit of a milestone

Good luck with your upcoming surgery. I remember being really excited before mine. You will do great and its nice to know your boss was supportive.

Michele, Good luck with your insurance. Mine was a pain in the ass so hopefully it will all work out for you.

    Honesty is the best policy

I would want to know if there is information about a surgeon out there. Just ignore those that say this isn't the forum. Thanks

    Does this sound right?

Blood work typically takes a couple of days. You should be okay.
  13. It depends on the insurance. I was able to get surgery with the BMI at 40%. Some insurances want you to lose X amout of weight or go through some pre studies. Once I hit the BMI ration I was submitted and approved when I had my surgery date in about 2 weeks. I have United Healthcare and had to use the "out of network" feature.

    Hey! I've reached onderland!

    Good job girl!
  15. I waited about 1 1/2 weeks. I had no pain from the incisions. Guess it comes down to position as well. Go for it.

    HELP!! Swallowed gum!!

You are probably okay if you don't feel it. You don't have restriction yet since you haven't had your first fill. You are probalby fine.

    Hair Dye Pre Surgery?

Nothing that I know of. You should be fine if you dye your hair pre surgery.

How aware are you of your port?

I don't notice mine but I am newly banded. I'll probably notice it more when I lose some weight. That is probably why you notice it so much now! Good job.

    Dr. Sanchez Patients. Pls Read!!

I don't know Dr. Sanchez but the answer should be "yes". They put on the air compressed socks so your circulation can keep going in your legs. Mine was an overnight stay but if you are outpatient I think they do that while you are recovering..but not sure.
  21. Plain and simple it will be plastic surgery.
  22. I'm only 3 weeks out but I have been having difficulty with hunger and not knowing when to stop eating. I think this is very common amongst us. I try and stick to 3 solid meals a day. Like yesterday I had a protein shake in the a.m. 1/2 turkey and cheese sandwich for lunch, some chicken small portion of rice and vegies for dinner. Believe it or not, I am not losing on that quantity of food. I do not know what is up with my body!
