  1. The only tip I can give you is this. Anything that pass through a straw is considered a liquid. I would say stick to soups, protein shakes and the like. 1 week isn't bad. Some doctors have you do the diet for months. Good luck.

    Women's sizes - am I crazy?

1x of xl is the same. 2x is xx and 3x is xxx. Plus size start at 1x or xl. I think xx is about a 20-22. Hope this helps.
  3. I think the best answer for me is that the benefits far outweigh the risk. With anything there are risks. I am very happy with my lapband. Wish I have lost a little more in 6 months but overall I am happy.
  4. Yes, you can have lapband over gastric bypass. It would be far less invasive then a revision I think.

    First Fill Not Enough

It took me 3 fills to feel the level of restriction where I was actually losing weight. I would go in for another fill. My doctor fills after 2 weeks. Good luck.

    Post Op Foods?

protein powder, soup, jello, popsicles, teas. You can eat creamy soup as long as it fits through the straw. That is the rule from my doctor. Anything through a straw is fun until mushie stage. Then you can add potatoe soup, etc. You will lose a ton in this phase. Good luck to you.

    New teen

miss phobia, I wish I could afford to pay for your surgery. I just know how difficult it must be for you. My doctor banded his youngest patient at 16. She is a sweetheart. I wish you the best of luck trying to save the money. It is well worth it. You have many years ahead of you and I wish I had found lapband at least 10 years ago. Good luck.

    MIL weighs 500+ pounds

You can post a message specific to Dr. C on the complications thread. It seems the doctor always replies over there.

    mysteries of the band

I agree with Barbara. Could be that the hot tea opened you up. I would try dinner without any liquids to see if you have better restriction. Good luck.

Lauren, that is great news. I remember when my insurance finally approved me how exciting that was. I'm excited for you. Hopefully you can have surgery before the end of the year. Good luck.

    4 days post op

My doctor had me eating whatever could fit through a straw. So if you can get the cream of wheat into that liquid state you should be fine.
  18. It may be acid reflux. I had it and my symptoms were exactly the same. I took some Pepcid AC for a few days and it went away. Remember you are swollen and healing right now too.

    Post-Op Questions

Yes most likely it will be like that until you get a fill. I am 6 months post op now and I get hungry much more frequently. Good luck.

    Where is my port?

Mine is on the left hand side right about the waist line. I never notice it.

    Any Regrets

That I didn't do it sooner. I was up to 320 preop 2 years ago and lost 40 lbs before surgery. I would have loved the lapband in my mid twenties. I'm 39 now.

    Road to "TWOterville"

I am working towards under 250 right now. My next pant size is a 20. I should be there in another 20 lbs.

    Question re: PBing

PB is productive burp. To me it is just like vomitting. If you have to PB it is uncontrollable and food or liquid has to come up.

    Getting Banded for Christmas

Welcome to the lapband forum. What a great Christmas gift for yourself. I would love to have a friend that was banded too. You are lucky to be able to learn from their experiences. Good luck.

    non-supportive boyfriend

I would take him with you to the doctor. I did that and it really helped my husband understand the procedure. Fills can be necessary as they help the band to work. I hope it all works out for you. good luck.
