  1. Sivan, once you get doctors clearance it sound like the aqua aerobics are right up your alley. Don't be discouraged that you can't walk. I would stick to the water. You will still lose weight without jarring your muscles. Good luck to you.

    Exercise Today

I went to Curves again this a.m. I am down 2 lbs since Tuesday's fill. I am also in a size 20 now. Down 2 sizes, 34 lbs since June.

    Fast Food Junkie

Fast food is the devil. I met with my dietician a week ago and she said it is a complete no no. That being said I do like the grilled caesar chicken salad at McDonalds. I always ask for the balsamic light vinegar dressing. Try to get back to good eating habits. Grab a 6" sub from subway, no mayo, no cheese. That is a healthy choice.

    I need ur advice please

Gabi, the only concern I have is how serious you are taking those extra 10 lbs. Ordering pasta and fried foods is the worst of the worst girlfriend. If you want your fill to work optimally you have to sacrifice those foods and get on lean protein and vegetables. I know this from experience and I've been able to lose more rapidly by following the band rules. Recommit youreself NOW and you can do this. If you don't feel your fill is enough trust me when I saw 2 or 3 more you will definitely not be eating more than 1/4 cup of that pasta. Good luck.
  5. That is great news. Funny how time flies doesn't it. I'll be 1/2 way to goal in 9 more lbs. That is so exciting! Congrats.

    Hello Everyone,

Mitzi, I was really hard on myself. I prayer about it for a while that I needed a drastic change. My eating habits were okay at best. I ate poorly, fast foods, etc. I have been overweight my entire life. Just know that this is a tool. You can definitely stuff your new pouch with bad foods. Just be aware that its protein first at all times then the vegies. They have some great sugar free/fat free jello pudding that I would recommend if you like chocolate. Use the band as a tool. I'm down 34 lbs since June and my doctor is thrilled. Good luck.

    The Truth About Skin

Mine isn't too bad either. I am down 72 lbs from my high pre lapband. The only areas I see are inner thights, stomach and the flabby arms. I am hoping in time everything will shrink up.

Hi Lisa, GNC has a great protein drink. It has 25 grams of protein in it. Congrats on your impending surgery. It is an exciting time.

    Questions

The only thing I wish I had listened more closely to was the reality of the band in terms of weight loss. I would consider myself a slow loser at the 6 month mark and down 34 lbs. That is an average just over 1 lb a week. The lapband isn't a quick fix. You have to work with it. You may have quicker results that me but hopefully you will learn from me too. Good luck. In the end it is worth it.

I am happy to report that I am down 2 lbs since my fill on Tuesday of this week. I guess I was eating more than I thought. Now I am eating like a bird. I have to remember to get all my protein in for sure. I'm officially under 250 now.

Dr. Phil tomorrow with Sharon Osborne

I was disappointed as well. It didn't say anything as to why. I think the interview was a waste of time.
  20. Not sure of the long term stats. I basically had the lapband because it is far less invasive. Bypass is a major surgery. I also heard that with bypass there is a "dumping" syndrom that can happen. You aren't allowed sugar of any sort and no alcohol. That was a huge factor for me. I didn't want to give it up. Good luck in your decision.

    Travel Question...

Beef jerky, trail mix, fruit (fresh if possible), protein bars would also be great. You can just eat 1/2 for a snack. Have fun.

You can definitely get your hunger back but I'm surprised it is so soon. It should help when and if you decide to get a fill. Good luck.

    My pants almost fell off!

    That is great news!
  24. If he is that nervous I would call my surgeons office and make an appointment for him to discuss the procedure with him. My doctor was happy to meet with both of us to discuss the surgery. It really helped displace any fears or regrets. Very well worth it. Good luck.
