Yes, it is totally normal to not have restriction because you haven't had a fill yet. It is also normal to gain weight before your first fill so don't be too hard on yourself. Good luck.

Congrats on your surgery date. The cruise sounds like so much fun so enjoy. Have fun before you are banded. Good luck.

Pudding, I completely understand where you are coming from. I have a problem with alcohol. Its gotten a little better while banded but I still struggle with it. A 12 step program in my opinion should be for everyone. We could all use a bit of what they teach us. I'm glad you are looking into yourself. That is so important on this journey. I would say love and sex addiction could easily be one of my problems as well. I just got over an affair with a married man in NYC. I'm married too and live in CA. Its been a rough 7 months for me and now that I'm looking at it from this side of the fence I can see just how unhealthy it was during the affair. Addicted to the behavior, sex and everything including the drama. Drama especially. I am just glad I made things right with my husband. No more drama and the unexpected. Its nice to be back home. Best of luck to you.

Hi 5jacks, this is great news. I remember when I was finally approved how excited I was. Its okay to go through all the emotions as I am certain that you will. Best of luck to you in your new life.

I have a 10cc band and I'm holding 3.0 right now. Feels like the perfect restriction. Good luck.

I eat occassionally with meals. I find that even though I am eating such a small amount of food it helps me to get it down. I don't overstuff the pounch, I just sip if I need to. Good luck.

10 hours post op and some quick questions!!
juliegeraci replied to mypov's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, you can add unflavored protein to your apple juice. It is good to get your protein in. You can either do that or make a shake. Anything that fits through a straw is considered liquid. I don't know much about the leg cramps but probably a good idea to drink a lot of fluid for that. Good luck to you. -
Great article, thank you.

Welcome Mary. I don't have Blue Cross but I've seen posting of their approval. I wish you the best of luck and welcome to the lapband forum.

Congrats on chosing the lapband. You will feel wonderful after you get your band and you're well on your way. I don't have any experience with Mexico but that Denver doctor above sounds like a great deal. Most US doctors are $15-20k. Good luck. -
New & got my date
juliegeraci replied to bigdaddynomo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi eldonh, congrats on your surgery. You can go to http://www.choosing2lose.com/tickers/ do your ticker then cut and paste the http URL into your signature. Up at quicklinks, you can select "edit signature" You then cut and paste the URL at the bottom "enter URL to image" then hit save. That should do the trick. Good luck. -
I will stop smoking I will continue to work out at least 3 days a week. I will stop eating when my band tells me its full and not stretch it out.
-
Clothes, clothes, clothes. I go shopping every 2 weeks right now. I am down 2 sizes on the bottom and 3 on the top since June. I am also going to a dermatologist to have some work done on my sun damage. We'll see how well my skins turns out.

I have decided that I want to weigh 200 lbs. That is probably 25 lbs more than they would tell me but I know my body. I really struggle at 175 to keep the weight off. I have no idea what size I'll be at 200 but I'm thinking I may be as low as a 16. That is good on a 5'9" frame. Good luck.

What should I expect from the nutritionist
juliegeraci replied to wendyjoy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine went over meal plans. Since you will not be able to eat huge quanities mine taught me how to get my protein in with 3 small meals a day. You will do fine. Good luck. -
My doctor lets me go into his office anytime to weigh. My home scale is off by 1.5 lbs compared to him. I truly believe the scale is the devil :-} Try not to weigh yourself for a week and see how you do. Try and stop the bingeing. I know it is hard but in the end you will do much better. Good luck.

Hunger after surgery
juliegeraci replied to Maurdan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor didn't have any prediet liquid stage. I ate up until midnight the night before. I found after surgery that my appetite diminished. I get a bit hungrier now but that gets resolved with a fill. Welcome to bandland. -
Congrats on your lapband surgery. It sounds like you are doing great. Good luck.

Hi Tracy, welcome to the lapband forum. You will find a wealth of information here. Good luck with your impending informational seminar and surgery. -
I agree with Susan. For me it goes down way too easy so I have to take it slow. Good luck and happy popcorn!

juliegeraci replied to adabadooya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained before my first fill. Don't worry too much about it. You are still in the heeling stage. Good luck. -
Crushed pills-YUCK! Any ideas???
juliegeraci replied to suzy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't smash them, I would split them. They are whole that way. Make them into a size of an M&M and they will pass through the band no problem. Good luck. -
I just moved down to a size 22 I swear only 10 lbs ago. Today I purchased a size 20 jean. The lady at the store said "those run small" so I am thrilled. Yes, they are snug. But as far as I am concerned if they zip up they fit! Yippeee. I'm under 250 now on the scale.

I had the same syptoms. I took Pepcid AC for a couple of days and haven't had the reflux return for 6 months. I would start there. You probably have acid reflux for sure. Good luck.
