Hi Erica, I am 5'8. How tall are you? My goal weight is 200. I'm at 217 right now. I am in a size 16 sometimes 18 jeans. I am fine at size 16 and so is my doctor. That would put me at 80% weight loss. 65% is normal. Good luck.

Sipping all day long is key. You will get your nutrition in that way and you will not feel as full. That is what I would do. -
Carrie, you can have anything that fits through a straw on the liquid phase. I would eat some liquid form yogurt or creamy soup which is made with milk. It really helped me early on. Good luck.

RNY - lapband...which way to go???

Just to give you some stats. The weight loss for lapband is 60-65% the first year. With RYN its 85%. But at year 3 its the same 65%. That is because you typicallty stretch your stomach out and gain with RYN. Lapband is so much safer. Good luck. -

LapBand Tightness Fluctuates For No Apparent Reason

This happened to me too. I could only get down liquids. The doctor said that sometimes the stomach lining will thicken around the band and give you more tightness. I had a slight unfill and within 2 weeks I was okay with a better fill level. I would start with a slight unfill. Good luck. -
It is very common if you are losing weight. The only reason for a fill is if you aren't losing, you are constantly hungry or you eat too much. If you have 1 of 3 of these criteria then next time you can get a fill. Good luck.

it is quite common to be tight until noon time. If you are losing and want to live with that this is okay, otherwise you need a slight unfill. How much can you consume at once?

Michelle, if you have a hard time getting in 1-2 oz I wouldn't get a fill. Make sure you are eating plenty of solid protein. If you can't get that much in you are too tight. You may want to get a slight unfill .2 or .3. Good luck. -

Karey, thanks for the post. I have been a little upset about my abdomenal fat. I can pinch an inch on my upper stomach. He is going to charge me $3k to repair. But then it makes me think "where will the extra skin go". I hope the lippo works. I have to wait until October. Wish me luck. -

Thanks, its now 6 weeks since surgery. Overall I am pleased however I still have some upper abdomenal fat that is driving me crazy. I am thinking about a tummy tuck revision in 6 months already. No pics yet. -

I saw Dr. McKeen today and he said it was more expensive to see Mexican patients. I believe the fills are close to $500 each. Hope this helps. Julie -

Dr. Robert McKeen at South Bay Bariatrics takes Mexico patients. He is $200 a fill. Wonderful surgeon. Good luck. -
Sounds like you are okay. Some doctors do recommend an endoscopy every year. I would call and see if you can get ahold of your doctor just to let him know everything is okay and see if he wants to see you. Good luck.

If you can't get down at least a couple oz of solid protein you are too tight. I would start with .3 cc out. Good luck.
