Thanks to everyone..but one more ?
juliegeraci replied to tennis girl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are in the healing stage. I would stick to mash potatoes. Rice should be okay if you chew it really well. I survived on creamy soups a lot. Congrats on your surgery. -
Question about gallbladder removal
juliegeraci replied to debi717's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Debi, I had mine removed after the birth of my 2nd son. I have heard good results having it removed at the time of lapband. I wouldn't want to go through 2 surgeries either. Good luck. -
Hi Jean, I was banded on June 6th of this year. So far I am down 34 lbs. I am considered a slow loser at 1 lb per week. I love my band. I am so glad I had it done. Good luck to you.
-
Hi Serious, what a nice gift to yourself. Congrats on your surgery. You will love your band.

Christmas brings bypass and lapbands together....
juliegeraci replied to mypov's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is great. I too enjoy speaking with people who have been there. Although bypass is more serious it does work so that is great you were able to talk with her. Good luck with your surgery. -
Becka, that is great news. Its so nice to surround yourself with people who understand. I am glad it worked out for you. Best of luck to you with your surgery. Keep us posted.
-
Hi Kat, that is great. I hope you had fun at the party. You sound like your attitude is great. Keep up the good work.

Hi Beth, it sounds like you are doing very well. Congrats on your surgery. Good luck. -
Hi Janice, welcome to the lapband forum. Best of luck to you getting through the approval and waiting period. Hope its not 2 years, yikes.
-
Hi Tim, welcome to the lapband forum. I don't know of a doctor but I wanted to welcome you. Best of luck to you in your search.
-
Hi Charlene, welcome to the lapband forum. I hope your recovery goes smoothly. Good luck.

Jigglypuff. I heard a similar story from a woman who was ill right after surgery and was chronically ill from that day forward. After removing the band she was like a completely new person. Not to say you are the same, but there are definitely rare cases or rejection. Best of luck.
-
Its okay to ask for a numbing agent. My doctor only uses a numbing agent. That is crazy to be stuck so many times without it. Best or luck next time.

Don't get too hung up on whether or not you are getting all of your protein in. I would sip all day long. Right now you are in the healing stage. You will not die if you don't get in 60 grams a day right off the get go. I would take it slow. You'll do better after the swelling goes down. Hope you went to Dr. McKeen in Utah. He is really good. Good luck.
-
I'm not your age but I say go for it if you are in good health. The band is great. I have never lost 34 lbs without trying in my life. Best of luck on your venture.
-
I can't eat pancakes. Hopefully you can.
-
Yes, I would post it in 2 places. Lapband support and Lapband doctors/facitilies. When you go into those areas you will see the thread link to set up a new thread at the top left hand corner. It should be fairly easy. Good luck.
-
I had mine out just after giving birth to my 2nd child. Its a very easy sugery. Good luck.
-
Hi Josy, hope you have a nice Christmas. It must be hard to be alone. Hope you get away from your bulimia as soon as possible. YOu don't want your band to slip . Good luck.
-
Hi Dolittle, if you want info on Mexican doctors I would put a thread out specific to that question. There are a ton of people out there that can give you good referrences. Good luck.
-
I agree with Jack. The sensors are at the top of the stomach where the band is placed. My stomach barely growls now. Good luck.
-
If you chose to eat the baked lays just make sure you chew them really well. You should be fine. I would skip the popcorn.

New to LapBandTalk
juliegeraci replied to godloveshope2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Hope, welcome to the lapband forum. The lapband was the best thing I've ever done. I chose it as appose to gastric bypass because it is far less invasive. Good luck on your journey. -
Hi Achiever, you will love this site. Best of luck to you with your surgery.

Hi Dolittle, it depends on where you live. I live in Northern CA and have a wonderful surgeon out of San Jose. Dr. McKeen is his name. Good luck with everything.
