I need to vent about my sister. She is totally unsupportive about me wanting to have plastic surgery after I reach my goal. I started at 320 lbs and had lost 40 lbs before surgery on my own. I'm down a total of 70+ lbs right now. I want to lose another 50. So I am just talking about having plastic surgery. Not that I may really have it or not. She told me a plastic surgeon will never do a TT and lip on someone who is 200 lbs. At 5'9" I look really good at 200 lbs. It just give me something to look forward to. My husband thinks she is jealous because I am taking care of myself again. I only want to look my best. If holding on the idea of having a TT once I reach my goal makes me stick to my diet then I am better for it. What do you think. Am I being to vane?

Self payer! But my insurance covers fills!
juliegeraci replied to BrwnEydGrl82's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is great news. I have spent nearly $1k on fills out of pocket. Strange how they covered my surgery but will not cover fills. -
LeahbNYC, you have to eat very slow and small bites. No bigger than the size of the tip of your pinky. If you slow down you will know when to stop and you will not PB. I hate when I PB. I do it more often then I care to mention.

Having trouble keeping anything down HELP!
juliegeraci replied to Bruce Peter's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, yes yes. this is very common. I have full restriction until late afternoon. If I eat too much I will vomit. I typically can get a protein shake in late a.m. though. -
I am really shocked from what i read!
juliegeraci replied to Gabi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It isn't ruining the band, it is cancelling out the fact that you have the band to lose weight. If you take in extra calories you don't need you will not lose weight, hense cancelling the band. You have to eat small healthy portions moving forward to have the band work the best for you. Good luck. -
I eat salads fine. I just concentrate on the protein first then the greens. Good luck.

Inproving the liquid diet
juliegeraci replied to RainInSpain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've actually had food dreams post op. Its funny. I miss being able to eat junk that is for sure. It is amazing how much I have changed in 6 months. Good luck. -
Rachel, it is a big life change. Your portions really change. Sounds like you are not taking this lightly so that is good. The band can be with you for life. It is the best decision I ever made. I just wish I would have done it years ago. Best of luck.

Can't wait...what is average time between first visit and the surgery?
juliegeraci replied to maryrose's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I went through the whole process in about 8-10 weeks. I too had to go to a nutritionist, phsych eval and to my doctor prior. It went really fast though. Best of luck to you. -
Surgery scheduled Jan 31!
juliegeraci replied to TracyV's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Tracy, congratulations on your impending surgery. It is really exciting. I had to sell my horse last year when I relocated to a bigger city. Boy did I feel sorry for that horse when I rode him at 300 lbs. Poor thing. Anyway, hope you have a great surgery. Good luck. -
Prosebud, I am a slow loser. I have lost about 33 lbs since my surgery in June. Don't be discouraged. It is difficult to only lose 1 lb a week. I am considered normal by my surgeon though. Best of luck to you on your continued weight loss.

I am really picky at what I eat. My main reason is because I will PB if I'm not careful so I select things that I know will go down. I can't do eggs or lunch meat. Good luck.

I was just sick of being fat. I go so fed up about yo yo dieting. I had tried Weight Watchers again as well. The band is a great tool. Never before have I been able to lose so much weight with ease. I feel really confident that this year will bring a ton more lbs gone. Good luck to you on your decision. Its well worth it.

How many calories?
juliegeraci replied to BrwnEydGrl82's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am probably 1k to 1200 calories a day. I don't count but thinking about it that is probably where I am. Good luck. -
Hi Kat, welcome to the lapband forum. Congrats on your surgery. Best of luck.

Hi there, congrats on your decision and best of luck to you during the prequalification stage. -
Hi Prosebud, I know there are folks out there that have been banded for a while and haven't lost that much. I'm glad you are getting another fill and have recommitted yourself to the program. Best of luck to you.

Hello from New York City!
juliegeraci replied to leahbNYC's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi NYC, sounds like you are doing well. You are probably swollen that is why it hurts when you swallow. I would just follow the liquid mushy stage for a few days to see how you do. You may be too tight. I only have 3 cc in a 10cc band. 6cc sounds like a lot. Good luck. -
The 'surgical' part is getting me anxious...
juliegeraci replied to sherilynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sherilynn, it is natural to be nervous. Just keep reminding yourself how exciting this is. The anastetic isn't that bad. The worse part was the sore throat from the breathing tube. Once he gave me the IV I was out like a light. The surgery doesn't take that long. You will be fine. -
That is fantastic! Way to go.

Taz, you are probably still swollen. I would move onto cream soups. That seem to do the trick for me. Maybe the pureed chicken was too heavy. Good luck.
