  1. I can't feel my port at all. I really have to lay down and search for it. I have the low profile, that may be the difference. You can ask for that when you have your surgery. I would.

    Can I cheat a little?

I didn't blend my soups. I ate creamy soups a lot. The cream of broccoli and celery go down just fine. If you were to cheat I would move onto yogurt. Its a little thicker than liquid but it will not kill you. Just try and eat stuff that goes through a straw. You should be fine. You are still healing. Good luck.

    Need Advise

Carmille, surgery is a personal decision for all of us. That being said, I was 282 lbs prior to surgery. I am down about 34 lbs since June. My struggle has been slow but it well worth it. The band is a great weight loss tool. I would go for it if I were you. I am not looking back. Good luck.

    Loss of a supportive friend

Thank you everyone for your support. Everything I have read here is correct. I just need to stay focused and find some new supportive friends. Thanks again and Happy new Years.

    Moral Dilemma

I believe that she needs continued care but Mr. P shouldn't get involved with anyone until the passing of his wife. That is just wrong.

Thanks for the info. I had a friend lose her dog to collar strangulation on the fence. It was sad.

HELP-I'm sabotaging myself before 1st fill

Lana, don't be so hard on yourself. We all do silly things now and then. LIke drink a beer or something like that. Just get back on. Your fill should help. How much do he/she put in? Do you feel restriction? If you overeat with a fill you will PB or vomit. So that may help you next time you reach for that pizza. You're doing fine.

    Eight days Post-op

I think you are right on mark. My pain didn't go away for at least 2 weeks. I remember not being able to sleep on my side. Your diet sounds like you are doing fine. Just try and get in as many liquids as possible. Sounds like you are sipping so that is a good thing. Best of luck to you.

    Hey PRE-Banders...!

My first thought naturally was to get into a lower size. I am currently in a 20. My goal right now is to lose 6 more lbs which would bring me to 1/2 way to goal 41 total. I will then look to see what it will take to get to a size 18. I think it will take me a long time to do that as I am a slow loser. Once I lose 41 more lbs I am going to research plastic surgery. I can't wait to have a tummy tuck and lipo done. That should bring me into a size 16 and possibly a 14 again. That would be so cool!

    Going Back To Work?

Take your foods with you. Stock up on plenty of protein drinks, yogurt, popsicles, and juices. You should be fine. I would lift more than 10 lbs at first. Be sure to ask your doctor. Good luck. Its exciting.

    Banded on 12/26/06

Congrats on your surgery. You are probably in more pain that usual because of the hernia. I would take it easy and the pain should be better within a week. Good luck.

    emotional

jme62, I was exactly like you before the surgery. Thinking all about how I got to this place, what if I don't succeed, already missing food, etc. That is normal. Best of luck to you with your surgery.

Not sleeping on my side was the worse. Other than that I could do almost anything 1-2 weeks afterwards. Good luck.
