Joe, you can do this. It sounds like you were super good at first then slipped back. Just recommit yourself. I know it is hard to not be able to work out in the a.m. Just try and do what you can. Best of luck.
-
JJB, I know how you feel. I would feel the same. Just think how great you will look afterwards!! That is so exciting.

Hi Tanya, it seems like I am a creep crawler at 1 lb per week. I tend to gain 3, lose 2, gain 1, lose 1, etc. etc. My body drives me crazy! Right now I am finally down 1 lb since I posted my last ticker. My goal is 6 more lbs, 10 by Valentines Day. That would be considered rapid for me. Good luck.

Leah, be easy on yourself. You band isn't officially working. It works when you have fills. Right now what you are experiencing is preband hunger and fullness. You will feel better after you have a fill or a couple. Keep the faith, it does get better. I gained 6 lbs when I went on solids but quickly took it off after I had optimal fill level. Please be patient. The band does work. You may need more than 1 fill as well. Good luck.

They typically do not fill the band at the time of surgery. You should have limited restriction but it is not surprising if you gain a little weight when you go back on solids. I gained 6 lbs prior to one of my fills. I have 10cc band and have 3cc in it. It sounds like you are doing fine. If your hunger isn't too bad and you are losing you may not want a fill. But if you can consume higher quanitities of food and feel hungry all the time it is definitely time for a fill. It may take you several to feel optimal results. Good luck.

Congratulations. You will love your band. -
Hi Rabbitfancy, congrats on your lapband surgery. It sounds like you are doing all the right things. You are doing great with your weight loss to date. Congrats! Keep up the good work.

Wow! I had no idea about Mexico banding.

I agree with Melissa. I think they don't access you until the day of your surgery. That is probably why they stopped. -
Next time don't eat 2 hours before your fill. YOu should feel much better.
-
What size band do you have? I have a 10cc band and I'm at 3ccs and my 4th fill. I feel good but I think I am up for another one soon.
-
I've heard some lose 10 lbs. It all depends on your body.
-
Welcome to the lapband forum. It sounds like you are well on your way. Congrats.

marimaru, that is great. I am trying to get to my 1/2 way mark right now. I have another 7 lbs to go. The same 7 lbs I had 2 weeks ago mind you! Anyway, glad we are not alone out there. It seems I have slowed down considerably but I don't want to get another fill because I know I'll PB more. Thanks for the update. Good luck.

Oh, I understand now. March will come soon enough. But as a side note, if you were banded you probably can go to class shortly afterwards. The pain is minimal, just around the port. Good luck. I know you have been really patient.
-
I would see if you need a fill first. That should help you out. YOu can do this. Just take a mental note as to why you were banded in the first place. Love your band and treat it with respect. YOu will bounch back quicker than you think. Good luck.

I can't believe I'm going to say this...

I would go in for an unfill. That should take care of the problem. It just sounds like you are overfilled. You should not be throwing up mashed potatoes. I'm surprised your doctor hasn't suggested an unfill. Good luck. -
Stephanee, congrats on your approval! Keep us posted. Good luck.
-
laurend, thanks for letting us know how you are doing. Wonder if you can take Friday off of school and just recoupe the 5 days. Some people are up and about very quickly. YOu may not even miss a class other than the day of surgery. Good luck.
-
I agree with Cinward. I think 1 cup of food is a lot. YOu may need another fill. YOu can get your protein in a different way if you can't eat meat. Good luck.
-
I'm down from a 24 to a 20, I am in an XL top from a 3x. I can cross my legs better. I am not winded on the tread mill. My butt is shrinking and so are my thighs. I look 10x better from photographs, especially my license at 320 where I look bloated. I just feel all around better.
-
Angel R, how are you doing?
-
Cherie Berry, it sounds like you are eating just enough. YOu may be a slow loser at 1 lb per week. That is what I am at. If you are worried about your food choices I would bump up the protein to 3 oz and omit the starch OR do a vegie instead. That may help you in the long run. If that doesn't work, its time for a fill. Good luck.
