Regained weight, scared, need support :(
juliegeraci replied to HamuChan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It sounds like you have recomitted yourself, that is the first step. I would change your ticker and be truthful with yourself moving forward. You can do this. If you need a fill go get one. You can be back on track today. Keep the faith. You can do this. -
I visit the site every day as well. I am totally into it. I love hearing all the successes, challenges, NSVs, etc. It is life changing and a great support group.

Is it really worth it?
juliegeraci replied to victoria21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't exercise 2 hours a day or follow a commerical diet plan. I eat when hungry and stop when full. The band is wonderful that way. Trust me, you will know when you are full. I don't exercise very much and that is why I'm considered a slow loser at 1 lb per week. I've lost about 35 lbs in 6 months. I am hoping to get to 41 lbs by Valentine's Day. Good luck to you on your journey. -
Welcome to lapband talk. Best of luck to you with your weight loss journey.

Congrats on your impending surgery. Best of luck. -
Great news. Congrats!

UHC did not cover my fills. I've had $800 out of pocket. YOu may want to research. Good luck.

I get mine from GNC and they are loaded with protein. I think it has 25 grams per serving with milk. YOu should try them. They don't taste like chalk at all. Good luck.

How is everyone doing on the valentines day challenge? I was down 3 lbs and bumped back up 3. I'm back on the wagon again today and getting a fill on Thursday. Keep me posted.

Amount eating per meal
juliegeraci replied to spencd1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing great. If you are getting in a 1/1 cup of food per meal you are eating like a bandster. I would continue to eat that way. It sounds like it is working for you. Good luck. -
Depends on how you look at it. If you want to eat anything you can. It depends on whether or not you want to take the calories in. A chicken enchilda with rice and beans might be nice. I like chile rellenos the best. But I think they are high in calories. Enjoy a nice Margarita with a nice tostado or enchila. It will be fun. Just get back on program when you are done. If you are on mushy stage I would go for rice and beans and add in a cheese enchilda. That would be really easy to get down. Have fun!

I think I was on liquid or mushy stage. In any case, I survived on a lot of soup (no meat though) and yogurt. I also drink a ton of protein shakes. Mashed potatoes are a good one too. Cottage cheese is really good for you. Try a mash potato with cottage cheese. That is a real treat. Good luck.

Im new and have a question
juliegeraci replied to Lisa Montanoial's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lisa, I read this article. This would be something that may happen 1 in a million chance. This doctor obviously didn't know what he was doing or didn't realize she wanted removal. I would take didn't know what he was doing. Just do your homework on a good surgeon. Make sure they have done hundreds of lapbands. I have a great Doctor in San Jose, CA. His name is Robert McKeen. Where do you live? I wouldn't take this article too much to heart. This would be a really rare occurance, one that probably wouldn't happen again given more time. I would move foward. I love my lapband very much. I can't live without it now. Good luck. -
Hi Sherry, I think I had my first fill at 6 weeks. Not sure if your surgeon recommends 4 or 6 weeks. Good luck.
-
You needa another fill. I don't think you stretched your band.
-
That is great. I have 3 ccs in my 10cc band and I go in for another fill Thursday.
-
I just stocked up on soup, juice, popsicles, yogurt, etc. It was a breeze.
-
That is great news. Congratulations.
