New to forum, Banding this week!
juliegeraci replied to TxChick50's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, welcome to lapband talk. Congrats on your impending surgery. You will love your band. -
banded 5 months today
juliegeraci replied to Better_Days's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your doing beautifully. Keep up the good work. -
What's the worst thing someone said to you?
juliegeraci replied to annieM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Its not what they said, its what he didn't say. I haven't spoken to a friend of mine but once in 7 months. There was no reason given to me as to why we don't talk anymore. I would have preferred a reason. What a jerk. -
Its rare but it does happen. I hope you feel better soon.

Congrats on attending the weight loss seminar. Hope you do well with your surgery.

Highly offended by the ladies of "The View"
juliegeraci replied to cuddlebug's topic in The Gals' Room
Very interesting indeed. Rosie should shut your fat mouth, literally. It just seems like she is out for people these days. WLS was one of the biggest decisions of my life. If I could have taken the 82 lbs off after losing 40 myself I would have. I tried for 2 years. That is why I chose WLS. Too bad they have to say stuff like that on TV. -
I've had 4 fills and I'm getting my 5th on Thursday. What size band do you have? I have a 10cc band. Which from what I hear requires more saline. Good luck.

Josette, thanks for this email. I didn't realize it was a fake. Me bad.

Did Anyone test the waters in the beginning but was able to climb back aboard????
juliegeraci replied to apinksoprano's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Simply put I would go in for a fill. Best of luck. -
When will it stop hurting??
juliegeraci replied to cathyc113's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're really early in the healing process. You should feel better in a week or 2. Good luck. -
Having Second Thoughts?
juliegeraci replied to sophrosyne's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I second that. It is well worth it. I love my band. I wouldn't have it any other way. -
Hi Bananamoon. Congrats! You will love being banded. Its a whole new life experience. Best of luck with your surgery.

I made the decision and was banded in June. I've lost about 35 lbs so far. I am considered a slow loser at 1 lb a week. Probably because I haven't given up alcohol. Just know that the band is simply a tool. You can eat around it and if you don't exercise your weight loss is much slower. I do love my band but I have to constantly remind myself of that because it can be frustrating when you don't feel restriction like you should (don't have enough fill) and don't lose. There is the bad point of that and it does happen. If I were to do thing differently I probably would have paid more attention to how much food I was intaking early on. I seem to be up and down on the scale and its not fun. Best of luck to you with your decision.

howdy all - getting banded on 2/2

Good luck with your surgery. I've heard good thing about Dr. Kuri. Congrats and making this life changing decision. Best of luck. -
First Fill Advice: No restriction
juliegeraci replied to irwinlaura's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tell him to hang in there. There is another thread on the "fills" thread that talks all about the 10cc band. I have one too. Fortunately I've had pretty good restriction at 3 ccs. I am going in for another fill Thursday. I have seen on the other thread and some people need as much as 8ccs to feel restriction. Tell him to hang in there. It will be worth it when he hits his sweet spot. Good luck. -
Poll: How many have acid reflux problems?
juliegeraci replied to NJChick's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just in the beginning. I used Pepcid AC and it went away. Haven't had it back since about 2 weeks out. -
From the sounds of it you may be putting on muscle weight since you are weight training. Have you taken your measurements? That would be a tell tale sign for sure. Good luck.
-
I don't think it is fair that you judge your weight gain while you have slippage. I would take the road of the band not working properly. You should be fine once your band is corrected. Good luck.
-
I would definitley suggest a fill. Find out what size band you have. That should displace any concerns. Good luck.

Anyone else extremely nervous???
juliegeraci replied to rachel73's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was really nervous leading up to surgery. I had to take a pill to calm me down once I made it to the hospital. That is completely normal. I feel great now and I'm happy I did it. -
Starting to have regrets
juliegeraci replied to kdaly32's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First I would call your doctors office and make sure you can get on an anti nausea medicine. That should really help you. Second, are you taking in enough fluids, especially protein shakes. You may be starving and not able to know this because of you lack of hunger. I would do those 2 things and you should be feeling much better soon. Best of luck to you. -
Newly Banded and Hopeful!

Sandy, congrats on your new band. You will love it. -
hi- here for support
juliegeraci replied to nikki1970's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Nikki, glad you are getting back on track. YOu've done a great job dumping 50 lbs so far. I'm only down 34 since June. I'm a slow loser. Anyway, congrats on paying attention as to what needs to take place! -
