It was the best decision I ever made. I just wish I had done it years earlier. Good luck with your decision. Bipass was not for me. -
Booked my Surgery for Feb 15 07
juliegeraci replied to onedayskinny's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats. I think you will find that your hunger will be diminished. It is typical in the healing phase. That is the beauty of the band. It wouldn't surprise the least if this is what you experience. Good luck. -
You can stop the feeling by being banded! The band hits the nerves in the stomach where the hunger pains hit. You wouldn't believe how you are affected. Its wonderful. No more hunger.

That is a strange place to put a port. Mine is on the left hand side just under the waist line. Ask the surgeon where the port is placed. Also you can ask for a low profile port for your surgery. Most surgeons are happy to put them in if you request. That is what I have. You can't see a thing. Good luck.

I have a date for surgery
juliegeraci replied to debi717's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Debbie, my ticker includes a 40 lb weight loss prior to surgery. I am down 39 lbs since June. I am considered a slow loser at 1 lb per week. I love my band though. I wouldn't trade it for anything. -
Scratch that. I weighed myself again today. I'm at 243.5 - 4.5 5.5 more to go.
-
I'm finally breaking my plateau. I went to the doctor yesterday and I'm down another 5 lbs. Total WL 37 lbs since June. I lose a lb a week.
-
I just went into the doctor yesterday and instead of taking out 3 ccs he was only able to drain 2.5 ccs. He gave me the injection of the fix the flat stuff. So far it is holding its own at 3 ccs again. Back in action.

Welcome to lapbandtalk forum. You will do great. Its such an exciting time for you. I remember how it was for me. I was banded in June and so far I'm down 37 lbs. I feel really good. The weight is really coming off now that I have a good fill level. You'll learn all about that. -
I use GNC protein shakes. I like the choclate. It has 25 grams of protein in a serving. Good luck.
-
Kelsey, congrats on your life changing decision. That is wonderful. Great job. Best of luck.

Getting Banded 02/02/07!!!
juliegeraci replied to Dori's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just eat your liquids if that is what you are on. Drink plenty of protein shakes and that will keep you fuller. Good luck. -
I would push them. It sounds like they are too busy or don't know what to do. Getting the run a round is not fun. I would call them and ask them to schedule it and tell them your insurance company is just waiting for that. Good luck.

Where did you lose first?
juliegeraci replied to timeforchange's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My weight seems to be coming off of my stomach the most. My butt is also shrinking. My arms are too flabby to tell. -
Still deciding - almost sure...
juliegeraci replied to nancynancy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Nancy, congrats on making a life changing decision. I can't believe I am down 39 lbs since June. I haven't even tried to lose weight. With the band it just happens. I wouldn't want it any other way. I hope your journey is successful. Keep the faith. The band is a great tool. Good luck. -
Mark me down for current weight 245 -3 7 more to go. Thanks!
-
Good luck with your decision and Mexico. I love my lapband.

What's the worst thing someone said to you?
juliegeraci replied to annieM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
deckedout, I know how you feel. I have always been the obese one in the family. Yesterday my sister paid me a compliment and I thought she was crazy. I don't feel good about myself. I've lost 70 lbs but still feel like crap. I really hope and pray that my self esteem will improve through this process. -
First Fill Advice: No restriction
juliegeraci replied to irwinlaura's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
vlynnfogg, what you are experiencing is norma given you don't have a fill. If you feel like you are eating too much and/or you are not losing weight it is time for a fill. -
Sushi is hit and miss for you. Typically I can get down one tuna roll but this week I tried another type of roll and PB'd it up. I would try it but eat it very slowly.
