Hi Tarami, congrats on making your life changing decision. I love my lapband. I'm sure you will love yours too. Congrats!
-
I would persist with him. It sounds like the band placement may be the issue. Can't he do a upper GI or barrium swallow to see where the band is?
-
Katie, it is a good thing that you are looking at yourself this way. You can definitely eat around the band. I would highly consider your thoughts before you move forward with the surgery. The band is a tool and a tool only. You can still make poor food choices and eat around it. Best of luck to you with your decision.

Its hard to say what you will lose. I am a slow loser at 40 lbs in 7 months. I wouldn't do anything differnt though. I think you will find good weight lose if you follow the rules. Best of luck to you.

Karen, you are probably fine. I would just talk to your surgeon. I snuck in a solid too soon but my band was fine after a barrium swollow test. You are probably okay. -

Mine are $200 out of pocket. My insurance doesn't cover it. To date I have had 5 fills out of pocket in my 10cc band.

I was nervous as hell that a.m. I was glad to have it all over with afterwards though. You can do this. You will not regret it at all. Best of luck.

I too had to wait about 6 weeks. I wasn't too hungry though preop. As far as feeling full you may feel full with the swelling. It all depends upon your body.

What a great birthday gift indeed! I am happy for you. You will love your lapband. Its given me a whole new life. Best of luck. -
Yes, I can't believe I am being successful with this. It is life changing for me. I would replace my band for anything. I love it.
-
Sounds like you need a good fill. 4 cups is 4x the amount you should eat. Sometimes you can eat up to a cup. It may take you more than 1 fill to reach optimal fill level. I would do in for a fill and see. Good luck. The weight will continue to drop once you feel restriction. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep the faith.
