Hope you feel better really soon. Thanks for the post.

Fill level is very important. Hopefully it will continue for you. Isn't it nice not to have hunger!? I don't have hunger and I love it.

I didn't have doctor Ortiz but I have heard great things about him. Best of luck with your decision.

Is it supposed to hurt this much?

Did your doctor give you any pain meds? Maybe you should call him. -
Alot of doctors do outpatient now. Mine was an overnight stay. Yes, they put you out completely.

Way to go working out. That is the most difficult part. You are definitely building more muscles. I would bet you are losing a ton of inches. That is great. Best of luck.

Introduction.......
juliegeraci replied to gretchens4's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Gretchen, Congrats on making this life changing decision. I was banded on June 6th and so far I am down about 40 lbs. I lost 40 preop as well. So my total weight loss is 80 lbs to date. You will feel so much better. Even with 10% loss you should have more energy. Best of luck. -
This type of post makes me angry. I feel like you haven't gotten the level of support you need from your surgeon. You should be at optimal food restriction now. I'm down 40 lbs since June. I would really rethink this whole band thing if I were you. I would go in for a good fill. You shouldn't be able to eat that much food. If you get a fill and you can still eat normal go back for another and then another until you can no longer eat more than 1000k a day. You can do this. I just think you need a jump start from your surgeon. My 2 cents.

Glad you are feeling better. Hope you have continued success.

Puberty, Daughters, and Eating Disorders

I was obese at 12 years old and I only wish there was something out there for me during that time. It would have vastly improved my overall health through high school and beyond. I would consult with your Pediatrician as well. Good luck. -
This is SOOOO hard!!

I didn't have a preop diet but I understand what you are going through regarding giving up food. Rest assured you will not. Your portions will just be smaller. You will do great. Good luck. -
I didn't have one. I ate up until midnight of the surgery. Its was a snap. Best of luck. Enjoy food while you can.

Mourningfuneral, don't be too frustrated. I know how you feel. I'm down around 40 lbs since June. I finally have the right restriction and I'm losing again . Seems my body likes to consume around 800 calories a day to lose. Keep the faith. It can get better.

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
juliegeraci replied to BeacheeGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Restriction is great. I am a)never hungry and b)can only eat about a 1/2 cup at a time. I try not to over do it and PB though. I have to be very careful. -
Molly, I eat a handful of almonds and that always cures my hunger. If you are hungry mid afternoon try that. Those would be easy to tote to school.

Worried I've done something stupid!......
juliegeraci replied to taylor.karen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Karen, I eat just about anything. I stay clear of bread though. I do miss eating sandwiches. My day consists of protein shakes, yogurt, cottage cheese with a baked potato, spaghetti, chicken, beef, just about everything. Just small portions. -
HELP-Can you PB on a liquid???
juliegeraci replied to BabyGotBack's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hope you are feeling better. I would hold off on adding any additional liquids right after you eat. You probably drank too many liquids. If you didn't PB it is probably because you didn't have to. I would definitely cut out drinking right afterwards. Good luck. -
At week 4 I think I was on solids. I believe within 3 weeks of surgery I was on solids. Make sure you follow what your doctor advises.
