Hillary Clinton, First Woman President of the US. Would you vote for her?
juliegeraci replied to godloveshope2's topic in Rants & Raves
I would definitely vote for a woman president but no Hillary Clinton. -
Wow, what a difference already. Just think how you will look after all the swelling goes down!

the only pain I experience is from the initial smaller needle with the numbing agent. It stings really bad.

Don't be ashamed. Food can be your worse and best friend. You will learn, with the help of the band, how to make it your best friend. Everything will be okay. Good luck with your recovery.

Next Week Is The First Day Of The Rest Of My Life!
juliegeraci replied to JVONHANDORF's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Jill, you will do great. My relationship with food totally changed for the better. It is life changing. I no longer crave foods that I use to. I don't eat fast foods (accept grilled chicken caesar from McDonalds). I am never ever hungry. That is hard to get use to. Best of luck. -
Hi Becky, I've been banded for 7 months and I'm down around 40 lbs. The band is a great tool. I like not being hungry anymore. I don't eat very much during the day so that is a good thing. Congrats on making this life changing decision. You will love your band.

That sounds about right. I was just curious because I'm going to have some type of plastic surgery when I meet goal. I can't go to work with tubing in me. You look great.
-
Puddin, can you tell me what your recovery time is? Did you have to take 2 weeks off from work for the drains or more?

banded one week - no restriction
juliegeraci replied to Texassippi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is no restriction until you start to get fills. I would call your doctor and see how fast you can get a fill. Mine was 6 weeks post op. By then you'll be on solid foods and may want more restriction. Good luck. -

Hi Deb, congrats on making this life changing decision. I hope you continue to feel well. -
Annette, welcome to lapbandtalk forum. I'm sorry about your insurance issues. I hope you get everything figured out so you too can have the surgery. Best of luck.
-
I drink up until the time I eat. That seems to help me.
-
I had reflux reallly bad up until 2 weeks post op. I took Pepcid AC for it and it went away.

Do you eat by measure or by 'feel'?
juliegeraci replied to sherilynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. That is the beauty of the band. Best of luck. -
The first step is typically getting scheduled with the surgeon for an informational interview and/or attending a weight loss seminar if they have one. After that, that is when you begin the preop testing (blood work), nutritionist and psych eval. You'll do fine. Best of luck.
-
Zana, I can't help you with the ticker but I wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss. I think fills are the key. I always do better after a fill. Best of luck.
-
Hi Mysticstar, congrats on moving forward with your seminar. I think that is wonderful. Keep the faith.
-
Congrats on making this life changing decision. Best of luck to you.

Welcome to the lapbandtalk forum. You will find a ton of information here. Congrats on moving forward with your surgery. I think it is very noble of those who want the surgery and have to do self pay. I think you will find that you diabetes will go away in a few months. Best of luck to you on this journey.

Congrats on getting banded. I've been banded since June. I'm considered a slow loser at 40lbs. I am please however that I am no longer hungry. Best of luck to you.

I would definitely go in for a fill. You have all the symptoms of someone who isn't tight enough. Best of luck.
-
Sorry you are going through this. I would push them again. I have United Healthcare and I was covered. Good luck.
