I agree with babygotback. That is exactly what my surgeon said. You are healing. I lost a little but going from mushy to solids I gained 6 lbs. It soon came off with a fill though. Take this time to just relax and heal. The weight will come off, trust me.

Ditto. I would call my surgeon asap. Good luck.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I love my band. Just know that it is a tool. I am a slow loser as I have lost 43 lbs in 7.5 months. I would live without my band though. I can honestly say it has been the easiest 43 lbs I have ever lost. Good luck with your surgery. -

I can eat pizza no problem. I just can't eat very much of it. Typically only 1 slice. Congrats on your surgery. It is so exciting. Hope your recovery goes well. Best of luck. -
looking forward to banding

Glad you are feeling okay. Take it easy.

Glad your leak is okay. So far I am definitely filled to 3.0ccs. I can really tell the restriction. That stuff does really work.

Hi Lucy, getting the lapband has truly changed my life. The post op diet is easy. You just have to be patient and drink protein shakes. I didn't feel weak. I consumed as much as possible. My surgery was on a Tuesday and I returned to work the following Monday without any problems. I eat whatever I want, just smaller portions. Bread and eggs are the 2 things that I cannot eat. Don't be scared but that is natural. I cried right before surgery. I was thinking about how much I felt let down because of all my past diets. That is when I felt the most relief just letting it go. Best of luck to you. I don't regret it for a minute.

Hi Tea Time, this was the best decision I ever made. I just wish I had done it sooner. Best of luck to you.

I didn't have a preop diet but I wanted to congratulate you on the surgery. You will love your band. Best of luck.

2 years gone by, only 55 lbs gone...
juliegeraci replied to Band-aid's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You need a fill. That will get you back on track. Don't worry too much about being overfilled. You will know when it is time to stop. You can take that 10-15 lbs off in no time. Good luck. -

Welcome to lapbandtalk forum. I don't have any suggestions for you but I wanted to wish you the best of luck. You will love being banded. -
Steve, congrats on your lapband. I remember when I had my surgery how food was so rewarding when I moved into mushy stage. Good job on sticking with the diet. Best of luck on your journey.
-
Hi, congrats on your surgery. I ate anything that could pass through a straw. Creamy soups seem to fill me up the best. I would stick to creamy soups, protein shakes, yogurt, those types of foods. Good luck.

Hi Virgi038, welcome to lapbandtalk forum. I was banded 7 months ago and I've lost 43 lbs. I'm considered a slower loser than others. You can expect to lose 1-2 lbs a week. Some bandsters lose more rapidly then then that. I love my band. Its the first time in my life I've lost weight without trying. Its been a true blessing. Best of luck to you on your journey.

banded one week - no restriction
juliegeraci replied to Texassippi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Janet, typically you can have a fill at about 6 weeks. That is when my surgeon does them. Congrats on being banded. -
This is exactly how the band is designed to work without a fill. You should not have restriction at all. You will be tighter when u get your first fill.
-
Congrats on your weight loss to date. I eat everything just smaller portions. I don't have a menu other than a lot of protein shakes, lean meats and vegies.
-
Hi Becky, you will do great. Its an exciting time. Best of luck to you.

Tom, when I first started to read the email I thought you may have supported it. I'm so glad that you emailed you friend back with that response. I know we all pay for people who can't afford to pay for themselves, but we are of the human race. Thankfully, you agree.
