Hi Justine, my doctor typically has you do 1 day of liquids and 1 day of mushies. You should feel a bit of restriction. Sometimes, however the first fill tends to go away pretty fast. Don't be surprised if you have to go in for another fill soon. Mine makes you wait 2 weeks.

Ash, that could totally be true. Its up to you whether or not you want your IUD out. I really hope you get the restriction you are looking for and that you can continue to lose the weight.

Kynekke, do you have a slow leak? Does he remove all 2.5ccs when he does your fills?

I went through a breakup last year. It has been 10 months now and I am finally feeling better about it. It takes time to put everything into perspective. Right now you need to take care of your health. That is the number one thing. Everything will be okay. Just let the tears come. I use to cry myself to sleep for months. I totally understand. We are here for you. Take care of yourself.

Hi Morgan, the lapband is a great tool. You will not be as hungry and when you get fills you will have good restriction. Keep in mind that for some of us, the weight loss is slower. You can lose an average of 1-2 lbs per week. Good luck.

Hi Christel, would love to help you. If you are banded by Dr. McKeen his fills are $200 each. My insurance does not cover them. I have a 10cc band which holds 4.2ccs. I am at 3 ccs now and have hit my sweet spot. I can only consume about 1k calories a day, unless I drink alcohol. If you want to find out more you can always call Dr McKeen's office and meet with him individually. I did that and it really helped me. He is great. Let me know if you have any other questions.
