    I just don't know anymore ( Vent, sook )

Phatty, a ton of woman miscarry. It has nothing to do with the lapband. You did everything right. If you were filled you got enough nutrition to the fetus. They don't take much. Just try and mourn and get over your loss. I had a miscarriage 19 years ago. It was difficult to get over but I did. You will be fine. Just give it some time. Good luck.
  2. Hi Monkey, you should be okay alone after surgery. Just make sure you have all your post surgery supplies like your foods in the house. You will be a little sore to get in and out of bed. As far as being off of work, I had my surgery on a Tuesday and was back the following Monday without a problem. I would say 5-7 days is okay to take time off. Good luck to you. You will love being banded.

    Normal Eating ever Again????

Angel, I eat just about anything just in smaller portions. You will definitely have to cut your meat the size of a pencil eraser. You will do fine. Good luck to you.

    PreOp Diet Weight Gain

I would try and cut back on your protein drinks. If you cut out 1 you might start to lose again. Good luck.

    hospital or outpatient?

I was in the hospital 1 night but now he has moved his surgery to outpatient only. Either way you will be okay. Good luck.

    Utah Newbie

Wen, congrats on being banded. Dr. McKeen is also a great surgeon in your area. He did mine in San Jose, CA but he splits his time from Utah and CA. Good luck to you.
  9. Pat, its normal to be scared. I was terrified leading up to my surgery date. You will be fine. Good luck.

    Started exercising again

I am totally out of shape even though I've lost a lot of weight. I started back today and was only able to do 10 minutes of cardio on the treadmill. I guess its a start. Tomorrow I am shooting for 15 minutes.:clap2:

    Band has slipped

I think a slip can sometimes heal on its own with an unfill. Is that what you are currently doing? Other than that, I would vote to try and keep your band or get a new one. It is going to be very difficult to lose the rest of your weight not being banded. Good luck.
  16. Rocko, sounds like you are in great hands. Congrats on getting banded soon.

    Stomach/Churning question....confused

You aren't suppose to eat meat bigger than the size of a pencil eraser. As far as churning in the pouch, I don't think that happens. The absorption process begins when the food hits the stomach. The pouch just stays full and the food pushes through in time. Glad you are doing well.

    Frustrated

My surgeon allowed me to eat anything that could go through a straw. That being said, creamy soups really helped me. Just make sure you aren't eating any meat.

    Here We Go

Laura, hang in there. I originally was rejected due to my surgeon being out of network. I finally got approved about 8 weeks later.

    Tattoos!!

I have 4 tatoos and I'm really not too concerned. The only one I think might look funny is the one on my right thigh.

One week so why am I so hungry??

Hi April, basically your band isn't working right now because you don't have a fill. You need about 6 weeks before you get your first fill. Now is the time for healing and not weight loss. You will feel much better after you get a fill or 2. A lot of your hunger will be gone. Good luck.
  23. ABP, glad everything checked out for you. I hope you find out what is wrong with you soon.

    Waiting time???

I had to wait 6 weeks for my first fill. Now they are only 2 weeks apart. Good luck.
