I just don't know anymore ( Vent, sook )
juliegeraci replied to Phatty's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Phatty, a ton of woman miscarry. It has nothing to do with the lapband. You did everything right. If you were filled you got enough nutrition to the fetus. They don't take much. Just try and mourn and get over your loss. I had a miscarriage 19 years ago. It was difficult to get over but I did. You will be fine. Just give it some time. Good luck. -
how soon can I go back to work
juliegeraci replied to Monkey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Monkey, you should be okay alone after surgery. Just make sure you have all your post surgery supplies like your foods in the house. You will be a little sore to get in and out of bed. As far as being off of work, I had my surgery on a Tuesday and was back the following Monday without a problem. I would say 5-7 days is okay to take time off. Good luck to you. You will love being banded. -
Hi, good luck with your surgery. I too am saving for plastic surgery. I can't wait to have a TT and some lipo done.

Normal Eating ever Again????
juliegeraci replied to Angelhope82's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Angel, I eat just about anything just in smaller portions. You will definitely have to cut your meat the size of a pencil eraser. You will do fine. Good luck to you. -
PreOp Diet Weight Gain
juliegeraci replied to rondajs's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would try and cut back on your protein drinks. If you cut out 1 you might start to lose again. Good luck. -
hospital or outpatient?
juliegeraci replied to Fluffy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in the hospital 1 night but now he has moved his surgery to outpatient only. Either way you will be okay. Good luck. -
Tarra, good luck with your surgery. You will love being banded.

Wen, congrats on being banded. Dr. McKeen is also a great surgeon in your area. He did mine in San Jose, CA but he splits his time from Utah and CA. Good luck to you.

juliegeraci replied to squale's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Pat, its normal to be scared. I was terrified leading up to my surgery date. You will be fine. Good luck. -
I am totally out of shape even though I've lost a lot of weight. I started back today and was only able to do 10 minutes of cardio on the treadmill. I guess its a start. Tomorrow I am shooting for 15 minutes.:clap2:

2 weeks after surgery and hungry
juliegeraci replied to tnix's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They probably will not hurt you. Just chew them well. -
I think a slip can sometimes heal on its own with an unfill. Is that what you are currently doing? Other than that, I would vote to try and keep your band or get a new one. It is going to be very difficult to lose the rest of your weight not being banded. Good luck.

Stomach/Churning question....confused
juliegeraci replied to hotpink_bubbles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You aren't suppose to eat meat bigger than the size of a pencil eraser. As far as churning in the pouch, I don't think that happens. The absorption process begins when the food hits the stomach. The pouch just stays full and the food pushes through in time. Glad you are doing well. -
Welcome to bandland. You will do great. You will love being banded.

My surgeon allowed me to eat anything that could go through a straw. That being said, creamy soups really helped me. Just make sure you aren't eating any meat.
-
Laura, hang in there. I originally was rejected due to my surgeon being out of network. I finally got approved about 8 weeks later.

I have 4 tatoos and I'm really not too concerned. The only one I think might look funny is the one on my right thigh.

One week so why am I so hungry??
juliegeraci replied to aprilmarie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi April, basically your band isn't working right now because you don't have a fill. You need about 6 weeks before you get your first fill. Now is the time for healing and not weight loss. You will feel much better after you get a fill or 2. A lot of your hunger will be gone. Good luck. -
3 Years Out...Disillusioned, frightened and ashamed-Any takers?
juliegeraci replied to ABP's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
ABP, glad everything checked out for you. I hope you find out what is wrong with you soon. -
I had to wait 6 weeks for my first fill. Now they are only 2 weeks apart. Good luck.
