    I'm so ready for this

Donna, mine took 6-8 weeks total to get through all the preop appointments and the approval. It sounds like you are further in the process so I would say within 2 weeks.

    Communion?

Berry, you should be fine. Just chew it really well. Julie

    help

33 lbs in 3 months is really good. You should be proud of yourself. My doctor only waits 2 weeks in between fills. If you are losing 1-2 lbs a week which you are you are losing what is typical. Hang in there.

    I am depressed..........

Gretchen my dear. I understand how you feel. Right now you are still in the healing stage. You will not have restriction until you start getting fills. Even then you may need several. Do you know what size band you have? I have good restriction now but it took me 5 fills to get it. Also, keep in mind you may gain a few lbs before your fill. That is completely normal. I gained 8 lbs but lost it pretty quickly after a fill. Also keep in mind the average weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week. I am down 49 lbs in 10 months which is exactly 1.1 lbs per week. You need to hang in there. The weight loss will come. Hang on tight. and BTW, if you are on solids make sure you are getting enough solid protein, ie. meat/chicken breasts. You will not be as hungry. I found out the hard way.
  5. That is too funny. Welcome to lapband!

    Overeating

First of all, you don't have enough restriction, I have seen restriction with a 4cc band up to 3cc. You barely have 1.5cc in there now. I would start with some good restriction. Also, make sure you are earing hard protein first. That way your hunger pangs will not be as bad. Keep your calories to 800-1000k a day and you will lose.

    Should I get a fill?

I have a dilema. I have good restriction with 3.0 but I am crazy hungry. My hunger comes back in 2 hours. Will a fill help me or do I need an appetite suppressent or something like that.

    Not wanting to eat

Diana, just take it slow and sip away. You will feel better in a few days. The hunger may never return. Good luck.

    New in Lapbandland

Jo, 10 days might be a little too soon. You will probably be fairly sore. My doctor recommended liquid Tylenol.

    Mushie Stage

Berry, yes you can have crackers. Just make sure you chew them well and they don't go down crunchy. Julie

    Summer BBQ's

The food should be the size of a teaspoon or the size of a pencil eraser. Make sure you really cut the meat up to that size. Good luck and enjoy.

Red20, mashed potatoes are fine. I love them with a little butter and cottage cheese. Yummy.

I had my gall bladder out pre surgery. My recovery was just a few days.

    Holy crud!

Lisah, good for you taking a look at your diet. I had to do the same thing recently. I am always hungry so I thought I needed another fill. Low and behold I am only eating soft foods which don't stick to you. My surgeon told me yesterday to eat more solids. Well I did that and I am down 2 lbs since Sunday. I am very happy now. Good luck.

    Summer BBQ's

Yes, just not very much of them. I can usally get down 1/4 of a burger, 1/2 of a hot dog, 1-2 oz of a steak and a bite or 2 of potato salad. I would try and keep with the tossed salad and the steak. That way you are getting in the best protein. Good luck.

    Feeling Down

I feel much better today. I have lost 2 lbs this week. I upped my solid intake because I called the surgeons office and apparently my diet is too soft so I was hungry every 2 hours. Anyway, thank you all for your posts. Julie

    Feeling Down

Hi My name is Julie and I've been banded for 10 months. I have only lost 45 lbs to date. I am trying to get back on track. I am going in for a fill on Friday. I've been having trouble in my personal life. A good friend of mine for 25 years decided that she didn't want to be friends anymore. Needless to say, I am devasted by her actions. I can't sleep at night thinking where I went wrong. I also have a 14 year boy that has been having difficulty. I have a call into my Psychiatrist to see if he can see him for depression. He has been caught drinking, smoking pot and just received an F in Algebra. It seems that everything is happening at once. I want to get him some counseling but he swears he will not talk during the session. He also lost his virginity about 2 months ago so that was news to me. Anyway, enough of a dump. At least I am down 45 lbs. That is good.

What weightloss rate is everyone loosing at?

I do not exercise and I lose 1 lb a week. Right now I am doing better though having lost 2.5 lbs this week. I am editing my diet to include more solids so I am not as hungry.

    potato?

Berry, you can eat anything that can fit through a straw. So I would say creamy thinned out potatoes are fine. YOu have not done any damage. Good luck.

    Recovery time???

Meredith, most like you will be a little sore and maybe have some gas. I took 6 days off and I was back to work. Good luck.

    Bmi?

Laura, I would try and eat normal between now and the time you meet with the surgeon. He is the one who will submit your approval. Good luck.
