I can only feel my port if I lie down and look for it. It does not protrude.

Caseye, right now you don't have any restriction. You will start to gain restriction slowly after your first fill. It took me 5 fills to find my sweet spot. Don't be surprised if it takes you a few. Good luck.

Sandy, congrats to you. Keep up the good work.

Angel, if you feel like this is the doctor for you I would stick with him. I love my doctor and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Hi Tammy, you are doing great. I am down 50 lbs in 10 months. A lb a week is typical. Good luck. -
I get my protein shakes from GNC. They have 25 grams of protein. The milk based ones are sweeter than the soy ones.

Rebecca, congrats on getting banded. Now begins the healing stage. Good luck.

Gummie, if you are eating too much it is time for a fill. You probably have not stretched your pouch. If you have lost weight it is because of the loss of weight you need to have a fill.
-
I'm sorry this happened to you. Best wishes.
-
Berry, yes it should go down easy. I can't eat scrambled but I can eat soft or over easy. Good luck.

Nancy, I have been banded 10 months. I am down 50 lbs. My high was 282 when I was banded and I'm at 233 today. I love being banded. I am considered an average/slow loser at 1 lb a week. Things are picking up for me though because I have audited my diet and I wasn't eating enough solid protein. I feel much fuller now longer and I've lost 3 lbs this week now. Good luck on your journey.

I have heard great thinks about Dr. Spivak. I didn't use him but on the boards I have heard great things. You may want to start a thread specific to his name.

Appointment with Dietician Scared Me
juliegeraci replied to Dustmouse's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dustmouse, your relationship with food will definitely change. You will be able to enjoy all the foods you like but less of them. Don't feel discouraged. You will be able to eat up to a cup of food. With the proper restriction you will not be as hungry and not be able to consume as much. That is the beauty of the band. You can do this! -
Kynekke, just get back on track. Do you need a fill? How about liquids for a day to help you lose again?

I would go in for a fill. You should only be able to eat the protein alone. You are eating too much. Good luck.

Scared to death now and having doubts...
juliegeraci replied to musicalmomma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You will do fine if you follow your doctors orders. Listen to your body. You will know when it is time for a fill. If you aren't losing weight, are too hungry, or eating too much it is time. Good luck to you! -
After 10 months I am finally hitting the 50 lbs mark. I have 1 more lb to go!
