Things will change but all for the better. You will be able to enjoy everything just in smaller portions. You'll be taking home left overs from the restaurant or sharing a dish with your hubby instead.

I'll definitely need plastic surgery after losing 80-100 lbs.

I love BMT, extra vinegar. Thanks for eating that for me. I miss them so much!

thatgirl, don't be frustrated. It took me 8 months to get there. I have lost 13 lbs since Jan 11th so now I am really moving. You will be fine. Just keep going back for fills until you can only eat 1/2 cup of food at a time. That is what works for me. I take in 800-1k calories a day only. Julie

Thanks for the tip. I bought some fish fillets just the other day and thought of you. Good luck. Julie -

what do you usually eat each day?
juliegeraci replied to thatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I keep my calories to 800-1k a day. I eat a protein shake in the a.m., some solid protein with lettuce and dressing at lunch, I snack on almonds and yogurt and then solid protein again for dinner. I am losing. -
Yes, call the doctor. My surgeon recommended anything that could fit through a straw. I moved to creamy soups right away and they were a life saver. You will not die from a pudding either. When are you suppose to move to mushy stage? Julie

Most doctors do not fill the band to leave time to heal. My doctor fills at the 6 week mark. I don't know about Missouri. But if you go on fills centers usa I believe their website that may help you. Good luck. Julie:D

Non fill? The invisible fill? The unfill?
juliegeraci replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Moving up .5 isn't very much. No wonder you don't have any restriction! Go in for another more agressive fill. -
She is correct. Don't eat 4 hours before your fill. You will feel a little sting from the numbing agent the doctor uses (if they do) at the port site where the bigger needle goes in. They lay you flat on the table, feel for your port, numb you up, then inject the saline. They they have you sit back (needles still in) and they have you drink Water to see how tight you are. If you need some take out they lay you back down on the table, etc. They are super easy. Yes, you can go right back to work. Just take some liquid Soup with you in case you get hungry. You'll be on liquids 24 hours then mushies 24 hours then solids. Or at least that is what my surgeon does. Some do liquids for a week. Good luck to you! Julie:clap2:

I would go for the fill. They typically do not fill you very much. You probably will not feel much. Good luck and enjoy your vacation and margaritas! Julie

It took me 5 fills and 8 months to find my sweet spot. I've been here for about 8 weeks but now I think I'm ready again. Keep up the faith. You'll hit yours. Julie

Why do you have to continune to get fills?
juliegeraci replied to Nancy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Nan, yes! The band is designed to give you restriction. With restriction you still have to make wise food choices but if you follow the bandsters rules you will not overeat. I can only eat 1/2 cup of food at a time and I'm at 3ccs in a 10ccs band (which holds 4.2). You can PM me if you want more info. I don't mind. Julie -
Ive hear there is severe fatique and in some cases you can break out.
-
I love my band but I do miss food. I really miss eating 6" subway sandwiches. Julie

Why do you have to continune to get fills?
juliegeraci replied to Nancy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Nan, the fills don't hurt themselves. The needle the surgeon uses to numb the port are stings a little bit. I don't know if your doctor uses a numbing agent or not. Some to not. A fill literally takes 5 minutes. They take out the old saline to see how much is there and then they fill and sit you up to drink water to see how tight you are. Its really easy. Good luck to you. Keep up the faith and keep working at it. The weight will come off! Julie

Paula, I can't wait to break the 200 mark. I have roughly another 30 lbs to go. Congrats and keep up the good work. Julie

Congrats on starting your journey. Julie

Why do you have to continune to get fills?
juliegeraci replied to Nancy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Nan, welcome to lapband talk forum. You need to get fills to have restriction. Typically the band loosens when you start losing weight. I need a fill every 10 lbs or so. I have had 5 fills in 10 months. Yes, my fluid did evaporate. The surgeon told me I had a small weepy tube. No big deal. It was fixed with a solution they can put in for that. Kind of like fixing a flat tire. Good luck on your journey. Julie -
Post-Op Complications???
juliegeraci replied to mylapspirit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Shelli, I only had mild nausea which my doctor perscribed something for. Other than that I would say a little gas and soreness in the abs and port area. Julie -
