Dragonfly, the surgeon typically leaves the band empty when they place it. The stomach swells so that is why. As far as fills go, my surgeon costs $200 a fill. Julie -

I had my surgery on a Tuesday and returned the following Friday. -

Laura, typically doctors fill you really slow. You should be fine. In fact, it may take several fills before you feel the right restriction. Julie

What is restriction like weeks 3-6 after band???

Yes, it is very true. You are not filled, thus not restriction. I love my band, it took me 8 months to feel complete restriction. I would follow up with a fill first. I may take you multiple fills to find a good level. Good luck! Julie
