Yes, this can happen. I think you can have it positioned through general anastetic. Good luck. Julie

I don't know why but probably something to do with the way the body handles a regular pill. Congrats on your weight loss and being banded. Julie

I remember how it was for me early on. I gained weight before I started getting good restriction so hang in there. Julie

Shell, how many calories a day do you take in? It is recommended that you take in 800-1k calories a day as a bandster. Does your trainer have you on a weight loss program. Mine wanted me to eat a ton of food but I couldn't. Julie

Dori, it took me 5 fills and 8 months to find the best fill level so be patient. Also, keep in mind that the average weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week. Some people lose a lot faster but don't be discouraged. The weight loss will come.

Question About Medications/diabetes
juliegeraci replied to BLUE2121's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Once you start to lose weight chances are your diabetes will go away. I take 5 pills a day without a problem. I can take a standard pill size without having to split it. You may have to check with your pharmacist to see if you can split your pills. Good luck with your surgery. Julie -
:clap2: 4/5/07 I'm down another 6 lbs for a total of 51 lbs.

Ray, just follow the bandsters diet to the tee and you will be fine. It will be really important for you to get optimal fill level as soon as you can. That will help you with the weight loss. Julie -
To band or not to band....
juliegeraci replied to Unsure's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Getting banded is a personal decision. Do not let your family or friends take away your dream. I love being banded and I wouldn't want it any other way. Julie -

Burping and gurgling with liquids--help!
juliegeraci replied to cal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Cal, that is your restriction speaking to you. If you are still able to consume a lot of food you aren't tight enough. You just have to live with the gurgling. Julie -
I don't know why he told you 10 years. The band is suppose to be for a lifetime. Congrats on getting banded. Julie

What a jerk. Good luck. -
Emily, what you are experiencing is normal given you don't have restriction. It is time for a fill.

Anniejo, I have heard good things about that doctor. You should be in good hands. Congrats on getting banded. Julie
