Returning shoulder/neck pain
juliegeraci replied to Berry's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it is normal. You may experience this for weeks. I would use a heating pad. That should help. -
Stacy, congrats on getting to a good fill level. It makes a world of difference. Julie

What Keeps You Full/Satisfied?
juliegeraci replied to copywronger's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When you start getting fills you will not be as hungry. There are sensors at the top of the stomach which indicate fullness. So when you are tightened and the food stays in the pouch longer you will feel full longer. Makes sense doesn't it! Julie -
I need honest feedback please but be nice..

Nice poem. I am a poet too. Congrats on your band. Julie -
Hiccup/Burp - 5 days post op - help?
juliegeraci replied to panda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Pands, hiccups and burping are very common with the band. When you eat especially. It is the bodies way of telling you that you are getting full. Congrats on being banded. Julie -
What Keeps You Full/Satisfied?
juliegeraci replied to copywronger's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lean meats are the highest in protein and stick with you the longest. I am finding that I must eat solids to feel full. When you are on liquids, I would say to make sure you eat your protein shakes. They are the most important. Julie -
Herbalife should be fine. Just make sure you are getting the bang for the buck and getting at least 25 grams of protein for your shake. If not, I would switch. Good luck.

Drove 11 hours round trip for fill today
juliegeraci replied to beachgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Beachgirl, I love hearing stories like this. I remember when I had gained 8 lbs too. A fill helped me as well. Congrats on your weight loss. I can tell you are totally committed due to the fact that you have to drive so far. Congrats and keep up the good work. Julie -
Forgive yourself and move on. Have you had a fill yet? If not, I would get one. That will help with your motivation too. Just remind yourself why you did this. Move your food addiction to healthier choices. Like a pudding cup that is under 100 calories. Its all about choices. You can still enjoy chocolate, you just need to find one that is lower in calories. Try and stay to 1k calories a day you and you will lose. Julie

To band or not to....
juliegeraci replied to seaangel's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Caroline, you are so pretty. I chose the lapband because it is reversible and adjustable. I love being banded. I've lost 50 lbs in 10 months. I am considered an average/slow loser at 1 lb per week. Good luck with your decision. I don't regret it at all. Julie -
Berry, make sure you are eating solid protein always. This will keep your hunger down. Good luck. Julie

Banded less than 24 hours ago!
juliegeraci replied to ShineOn's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You should probably take a week off of work. The lifting part will need to go away until your 6 week check up. Julie
