    time off work?

Tracy, I took 1 more day off then you and I was fine. Just make sure you have your blender or whatever you need to be successful on the liquid stage. That is the most important. Julie

    My first time

Stacey, welcome to lapband talk forum. It is so exciting for you! I love hearing newbie stories. I've been banded for 10 months and I'm down about 50 lbs. I am considered a slow/average loser at 1 lb per week. You will love being banded. It is so great not to have food control you. Good luck.

    Two Years Banded

J.S. Thanks for the great post. I love your attitude. I am a slow loser and I know that it will just take me that 2nd year to lose the rest of my weight. I try and lose 1 lb a week. Good luck to you. Julie

    4th Fill Coming & FRUSTRATED!!

*If you aren't losing weight you need another fill. You should be losing 1-2 lbs a week. Good luck!:clap2:

    What have I done?

You'll be fine once you can move back to solids. Right now it is just very difficult for you. You will be able to enjoy all your favorite foods just in smaller quantities. Keep your eyes on the prize. Julie

    Popcorn

I eat the 100 calorie packs. My surgeon told me that popcorn goes down like sand. Its true. Very easy to get through the band.

No, not at all. I am on the board almost all day long. I love it.

I don't want to tell people

Yes, its okay if you don't tell anyone. Because you can still eat relatively normal just smaller quantities you will be okay.

Hi there, welcome to band land. I think my doctor had me do 2 weeks of liquids followed by 2 weeks of mushies after surgery. I didn't have a preop diet, lucky me. Julie

    Do you miss food?

I can eat spaghetti and meatballs with no problem. I just had that yesterday. Unfortunately due to the texture I can eat quite a bit of it. Julie

    Finally down 50 lbs!

I hit the 50.5 mark this a.m. I was banded last June and I'm considered a slow/average loser at 1 lb a week. I have 2 more months until my bandiversary but I am happy to report I am down 50 lbs and 2 sizes.

    2 BBanded and worried

Don't worry, they can give you an anti nausea medication that will help. Just let them know when you are going in. Julie

    Appetite

Shelbellz222, you should eat your hard protein first. That will keep you from getting hungry more often. I made the mistake of eating too soft of a diet and I really paid for it. So make sure you are eating solid protein. Second, if you are still starving and can eat a substantial amount of food you need a fill. Don't be scared to ask for a fill if you have these symptoms. Julie

    Appetite

Syrah, I don't want to scare you that is not my intention. I don't know why your surgeon told you that. It is very common for hunger to come back full force in a few weeks after being banded and with no restriction. So if you start to get hungry it can happen. That being said, you may be one of the lucky ones and not have it return before your first fill. Either way, you just need to know it can happen both ways. Julie

To Band or not to Band?

Its the best thing I have ever done. I eat chips and pizza, just not much of them. Good luck to you. I love being banded. Julie

    joining the lap-band group

Hi Tracy, I have heard some wonderful things about Dr. Spivak so you are in good hands. They only advise I can give you is how important it is to follow the postop diet to a tee. You are in the healing stages and its important because of the sutures which hold the band in place. You may feel like you aren't very hungry initially. It will be very important for you to sip just a little bit initially. You don't want to gulp any liquid. If you get really hungry you can have anything that fits through a straw on the liquid phase. Creamy soups really helped me out. If you get hungry and don't feel restriction and want to eat everything in site, this can happen. It is because you don't have any solution in your band so you are wide open. When you get a fill or 2 6 weeks post op this should cure some hunger and fullness. Let me know if you have any other questions. I am glad to help. Julie

    Let's talk swimsuits....

I found a great bathing suit which was 2 pieces. A little skirt and a tan top (not tight). I found it at Kohls. They carry up to size 24 I believe. Have fun on your honeymoon. Julie

    burping after eating??

All of the above. Burping and hiccuping is part of the sensors telling you that you are full. Take the warning and stop eating when you get the signal. Good luck. Julie
