Sounds like your doctor is really booked up. You just have to stay patient. Good luck. I understand how you feel but mine only took 8 weeks.

I added in some creamy soup and that helped me a lot. I just think you may need another fill.

If you want my honest opinion if you don't get a fill I would definitely cut down a bit. Take out the bagel for sure and add protein, even a Protein shake would be good. You are eating too much food. 3oz of chicken and a 1/4 cup of pasta indicates that. I would say you should be eating no more than 2 oz of protein and not even be able to come close to eating the pasta. You also should be filled enough not to finish the green beans and aspargus, even though they are good for you. Trail mix is good. Almonds would be even better, just a few. Looks like you are carb loading a little later in the day. I woud say if anything maybe a 100 calorie bag of popcorn might be a better idea. It is quite filling. I hope this helps you. I stick to 800-1k calories a day and I am steady losing now. I really think you need a fill. It sounds like you are eating a lot. Good luck.

Thanks. I am considering a small unfill. I miss eating food! Solids are really hard for me. -
Feeling anxious about starting to eat food...

Don't worry, the weight will come off after you get a fill. I gained 8 lbs between fills and it came off quickly with good restriction. Julie -
I have UHC and I didn't have to wait any time at all. Just make sure you check with the insurance company prior to enrollment. I didn't have a preop diet or anything. Good luck. Julie

Wasabubble, that is quite a story. Thanks for the share. It makes me feel really good that I didn't let myself get that big and that I took steps to help myself. Julie

I hit 308 2 years ago. I decided to give up alcohol and most carbs. I dropped to 282 before becoming banded. At 282 I was really struggling to lose any more weight. I was reading a book about God grace. In this book it said that if there is an area of your life you need help with you should reach out and seek help. From that point on I did that. I can truthfully say I don't even remember how I found my surgeon. Everything just fell into place. I went out of Network but because there wasn't a Bariatric Surgeon in my area they approved it. 2 weeks post op help
juliegeraci replied to tammydam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the above. You will get restriction and feel it after a fill or 2. Right now your band is empty. It is still there! -
Berry, it definitely sounds like restriction kicking in. Just make sure you eat small bites and really slow so your stomach sensors can go off before you get too full. Julie

PB... That sounds kind of scary!!

I PB when I eat too fast or too much. It is exactly like vomitting to me. I usually vomit up when is stuck in the stoma. Its not too much though. I PB about every other day or so. I think it is quite common. Once you reach proper fill restriction you will have to be more careful about the way you eat. You can definitely protect yourself again PBing if you don't over due it. Good luck. Julie -
Congrats on your band date. You will love being banded. Julie

Your relationship with food will definitely change. Meal times are a bit of a chore for me because I am afraid of eating too much food now. I am always concerned I am not getting in enough protein and enough calorie intake as well. It just takes some balance. You will be okay. Its worth it.

I met a girl who was banded at 16 too. I haven't seen her in a while so I don't know how she is doing. You are doing great. Julie

Once I was approved it took a couple days to get scheduled 1-2 weeks later. Typically the surgeon has a list of psych eval doctors. It wasn't madatory to go to a seminar. I use GNC's Protein shake. It has 25 grams of protein in it. Julie

Felicia, I remember how exciting it was. Congrats on your decision. Julie -
Shell, that is great that you are going in for a fill. You should be losing agin in no time. If you count your calories you might be surprised that you may be consuming too much. That is what helps me. Julie
-
Emily, I would call and ask them at your next appointment if you can get a fill just to make sure. If you are eating that much food you definitely need a fill or 2. Julie

Ginger, how many calories a day are you taking in?
