    Question

You'll do fine with restriction. Just try and keep your calories to 1k a day. I lost 3 lbs this week doing that. Good luck.

    Should I do it?

Cinnibar, when you get banded there is a tube with a port which is placed right under the muscle at the waist line. The fill is how they adjust the band tightness. Typically you can start getting fills 6 weeks after surgery. They numb the area up and insert the needle into the port and add saline. It is painless accept or a little sting with the numbing agent. Typically they don't fill you very fast. I have had 5 fills in 10 months. Let me know if you have any other questions. Julie

    Question

Go back today and figure this out. 12 lbs is a lot in a week. You need to get back on track. And if you have a good surgeon he/she should help you do that. Good luck.

Big Thunder, I hope you don't mind my response dear. You are eating way too many carbs. When you get banded your main source of food should be protein. I would cut out the a.m. salad and maybe add a cheese stick. For the afternoon snacks don't have cereal have protein. Yogurt, cottage cheese, hard boiled egg, slice of turkey. Trust me when I say, you will feel fuller longer and lose weight. Good luck. You can do this. Be good to yourself. Julie
  14. No, you shouldn't eat before a fill. At least 2 hours. I wouldn't eat breakfast. They can do a more accurate fill that way. Julie

    Question

At the consult they weigh you. I spoke to the surgeon who described the surgery to me and what it entailed, what I could eat, etc. etc. You can definitely lose 100 lbs in a year but that would be considered a fast loser. I am considered average at 52 lbs in 10 months. You can bet on 1-2 lbs a week if you follow the diet. Changes are because you are a man you will lose faster. Good luck with the consult. Julie
