Mema, you are pretty new so I would take it easy. I am 10 months post op and just rode the roller coasters yesterday with my son. It was so nice to fit. Disneyland really cares about their customers. It is so nice they accomodate larger frames. Even at 300 lbs I fit in all the rides. Julie

I had my depression fixed prior to banding. I haven't had any problems with depression since being banded. No mood swings. Julie

Wow, that is fantastic. I prefer to see my weight loss as 5 - 10 lb sacks of potatoes. That is a lot of weight. Julie

I hit 230 this a.m. so I am down 8 lbs on this challenge. Much better this challenge I must say. 2 more lbs until goal of 10. Julie

Smilliegal, you can do it. I dropped my calorie intake to 1k calories this week and I walked 3 days this week and lost 3 lbs. I really hope I can keep it up. Julie

Sounds like you have a great fill. Congrats. Isn't it wonderful to just eat 2/3 of a cup of food and feel satisfied!? I'm happy for you. You may be at your sweet spot if you continue to lose at that consumption. Julie

Paula, they say it can stretch the pouch but there is no scientific proof of that. I drink a diet soda maybe a couple times a week without a problem. You may find that after you get a fill the carbonation may bother you more. But you just have to monitor it. Julie

396Power, I feel for you. I hope you get your band soon. It is life changing. Julie

I hit 230 this a.m. I haven't been down at low for 15 years. I have lost 52 lbs and I'm down 78 lbs from my high 2 years ago. Yesterday I was able to ride all the amusement park rides with my 14 year old son. It felt really good. Julie

juliegeraci replied to mypov's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I do fine on 1k calories a day. I think pushing the envelope on 1200 and more would be an issue. Good luck. -

Brandy, the only pain I had was at the port site. It was a bit tender. Julie -

What's happening to me?
juliegeraci replied to ELoo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eloo, you are not alone. What you are feeling is restriction. Once you get a fill you will feel it sooner so you will not be able to eat as much. Good luck to you. -

Divingqueen, I really hope the surgery works out for you. Its been life changing for me. I must say the first 52 lbs has been pretty easy. I am bumping up the exercise now and I lost 3 lbs this week so far. I hit 230 this a.m. from a high of 282, 308 preband. Good luck to you. Julie -

Hi Tracy, you are still at the healing stage. You will gain a bit of restriction after your first fill so hang in there. The weight loss will come. I actually gained 6 lbs when I moved to solids so don't feel bad. You don't have any restriction right now. Just try and eat as much protein as you can. Julie
