I am so sorry to hear about the lose of your band. I hope in the future you can get a new one.

Glad you are having an upper GI. I would rather be safe then sorry.

Has anyone ever had their port moved? If so how did it go? Mine is on my left side mid ab area. I had plastic surgery in April and the doctor didn't do enough lippo in that area so I need to have a revision sometime in the Fall. My surgeon said he can move it to my bikini line for $1500. I am considering this. Where was yours moved to? Do you know what my options are?

Feels as if I don't have the band any longer
juliegeraci replied to greenedollar's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have been through a lot of fills and unfills with my band over the course of 2 years, probably 20. You may want to go to 2.5 or 2.7. -
Great NSV. You sound like me. I am only 5'8" but my goal weight is 200. Weight Watchers puts me at 165 which is too thin for me. Hope you reach your goal!

Tears on my pillow
juliegeraci replied to gypsyscribe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What you are experiencing is completely normal. You may gain moving to the mushy and solid phase. Your weight loss will start once you have a couple or a few fills so you have to be patieht. It took me over 6 months to hit my sweet spot and I still struggle with the same 20 lbs 2 years later. Good luck. -
I'm not adjusting well
juliegeraci replied to AZnikki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First off, make sure you are eating enough solid protein. That will keep you fullest the longest. Second, you can get a fill of 4.5 or 4.7. I had to go up just .03 so I wouldn't vomit. It can be done with percision. -
Anyone else have a fickle band?
juliegeraci replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi There, I went in for a slight fill today and was up 5 lbs. He took me from 3.15 to 3.18. Liquids still went down okay, just a second delay. I am hoping this curves my appetite and consumption. We shall see. -
Holy COW...I just hugged my knees...

Great NSV. Good for you! -
Jessica, it is okay to take an antacid such as Prilosec. I would start with that. It is probably because you are still a tad swollen. Typically acid, heartburn and reflux come when you are too tight. In your case, I am sure it is because you are swollen. Try not to eat too late at night as well.

After the fill - what am I looking for????
juliegeraci replied to LundyLane's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you are eating 6 oz of tuna and hungry shortly thereafter you need a fill. It typically takes a few fills to get there. Good luck. -
Anyone else have a fickle band?
juliegeraci replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks Jasmine. I have gained 5-7 lbs since I got a slight unfill so we shall see tomorrow. I have probably had 20 fills and unfills in 2 years so I really have a fickle band. -
I am really glad you stuck up for yourself. You totally have the correct view of the band. Good for you.

That is great. Keep up the good work.

I think a fill will help.

am I too tight or is this right finally?
juliegeraci replied to fivebyfive's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would wait a week after your period to see if you are still too tight to liquids or you have heartburn. Heartburn is typically a sign of being too tight. Good luck. -
First fill on Tuesday, now Im having a lot of pain
juliegeraci replied to JadensMomma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You need a slight unfill. He was pretty agressive for your first fill. I would go with 3ccs then up to 4 then 5. -
Post-Op problems...HELP
juliegeraci replied to Insky67's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds like you are swollen. I would move back to liquids for a few days. -
Nurse says I can't have frozen yogurt!!!
juliegeraci replied to Just Banded's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
She is nuts. There is no way to freeze your band. Enjoy. -
That was very professional of him to call you and tell you personally. Congrats on getting your surgery this week. Julie

How many ccs do you have in your band and what size band do you have? It just sounds like you haven't hit your sweet spot yet. I would get another fill. -

Wanda, I am sorry you went through this. I am really glad you are okay. Julie -
Amanda, I am sorry you are going through this alone. Do you have a surgeon support group you can join? We are here for you.

To unfill or not to unfill...WWYD?
juliegeraci replied to blahblahblah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Rain, it sounds like you may be a bit too tight. You may have some difficulty losing if you get a slight unfill. I would start with .2 or .3. I have the same difficulty when I'm too tight but if I get a slight unfill I have the same 3-5 lbs that come on and off when I go back up. It could be that this is the time to decide what goal weight you want and try to eat mushies more when tight or just stay at the weight you are. Sounds like you have a fickle band like me. Good luck.
