I like the old forum. I keep getting error messages. -
Welcome to lapband talk forum. I have been banded 10 months and I'm down 52 lbs and 2 sizes. I am considered an average loser at 1 lb per week. It really adds up though. I have another 50 lbs to lose and I'm hoping to do so this year. Congrats on making your life changing decision.

Hi, welcome to lapband talk forum. Congrats on progressing with the surgery. I have been banded 10 months and I'm down 52 lb 2 sizes on the bottom and 3 on the top. I am considered an average loser at 1 lb per week. The first 50 was easy to take off now the rest will be work. Good luck with your surgery. Julie -
That is fantastic news. Thank your mom! 12k is really good. Congrats.

I hear you. I'm at my sweet spot. I can only eat 1/2 cup of food at a time and I'm still losing. I am going in next week for a slight tweak though. I always need another fill when I lose 15 lbs. You don't want to get too tight that you can't eat solids. That is what sustains hunger. Hope this helps.

I bought mine through an infomercial. You can probably find it on line as well. They are great.

You are doing wonderful. Keep up the good work. -
Hi Bodden, my name is Julie. I'm 39 years old with 2 boys, 14 and 5. I had my lapband placed last June. I'm down 52 lbs so far. Its been a little slower for me. I have 50 more lbs to go to goal weight. Julie

You are expecting too much. It took me 5 fills to get to that level and 8 months. You need to go back for more fills until you find your sweet spot. Julie

PB stands for productive burp. It is similare to vomitting. Sometime you will vomit chunks of food or what is in your pouch. As far as you symtoms go, it sounds like its your body telling you the signs of restriction. You definitely need to slow down and see if you are full before you eat more.

Hi Melissa, follow the bandsters diet and you should be okay. Make sure you eat your lean protein first, vegies second and then carbs. You need at least 60 grams of protein a day. If you exercise it will really bump up your losing rate. I didn't exercise my first 50 lbs so now I have to to lose. Julie -
Good luck to you. You will love being banded.

Don't worry. It typically takes 2-3, sometimes even more to feel the difference. I have had 5 in 10 months.
-
Hotpink, that is great news! Keep up the good work.

You're welcome. Congrats on getting your band.
-
Kenophon, sounds like you are really on track. Congrats on getting banded. Julie

Sheila, I was exactly like you. My top weight was 308. I lost 30 lbs on my own to 282 and bamm, couldn't move another inch. That is when I was banded. It is hard to lose weight! I am proud at what this last 10 month has given me. I am down 52 lbs. 2 pant sizes, 3 top sizes and 50 more lbs from goal. I am an average loser at 1 lb a week. The doctor told me you can expect to lose 30-50% of your excess weight the first year. That puts me on track at 50% today. Trust me when I tell you that had I exercised I probably would be down 70-75 lbs right now. I haven't at all. I just started the exercise again. Julie

I used the solution and it worked magic on me. I've held my fill since January.
-
I have heard this to be true. But it is just based on bandsters complaints.
-
I would take Zantac or Pepcid AC. They seem to work for me. You may also want to consult your band doctor.
-
.3 is nothing. I would go back in for a more agressive fill.

Deanna, the surgery was a breeze for me. I had a little nauseau that was taken care of by the prescription my doctor gave me. I took Gas X strips for the gas. The port site was a bit sore. I was back to work in 5 days. I would say the surgery was easy. I was nervous like you. I had a complete breakdown 24 hours before surgery thinking to myself "how did I get here". I didn't really mourn food at all. I was just upset at myself for letting myself go for years. You will be fine. I love my band now and I wouldn't want it any other way. Julie

Nita, I remember what it was like moving to another fill. You will love not being hungry. Congrats.

Terry, welcome to bandland. You have now entered the area you should be careful of. Next will be a PB. Slow it down girl!
