    Scared To Eat

Sounds like you are doing greast. I have soft food syndrom as well sometimes because I am afraid I will PB. I can tell you this though. The hunger will return if you don't eat enough solid protein. I now make sure I have my protein shake in the a.m. followed by 1/2 - 1/4 sandwich with meat and cheese for lunch. That keeps me pretty full until dinner. Make sure you take really small bites and chew well. That will also help with the PBs. You should eat more than the size of a pencil eraser at once. Good luck.

    Really disappointed

Pemc, you need to recommit yourself. Meeting with the surgeon is a good start. Try and eat mostly solid proteins. Get away from the ice cream and cookies. They go down way too easy. Are you exercising and drinking your water? Julie
  3. Yes, my doctor put a tube down my throat. It hurt like hell afterwards.
  4. I second that. It took me about 6 months to get the right fill level. After 5 fills I finally had it.

    Help please

Debbie, are you still on the liquid stage or mushy stage? I would go back to liquids for a couple days. That should help. Make sure you are following your doctor's diet.

    Failed surgery

Sorry this happened to you. My weight loss has been really slow as well. Do you have the correct restriction level?

    I need support!

Shaydee, you are doing really well. Just try and stay focused on your goal. Set mini goals for yourself. Say 10 lbs at a time or something like that. Stay on these boards as much as possible. You will get support here. Good luck.
  8. Thanks for the information.

    Bathing suit recommendation needed

MC, I love tankinis. I wear one with a little skirt. They are super cute and seem to do the trick. You should try one.

    Omnipaq on a first fill?

It was more like the 4th of 5th fill.

    No restriction after second fill...

In order to lose you need to have the right restriction. I can only eat 1-2 oz of meat at a time and 1/4 cup of food. I think that is perfect restriction. It took me 5 fills to get there.

    No restriction after first fill

1/4 to 1/2 cup of food is a good fill level.
  13. 12 days seems like a long time. I would think that if your fill were to loosen up it would have been closer to 7 days. I would go in for a slight unfill.
  14. Laura, that is really strange. Typically when you lose weight you need more saline in your band. You may want to ask your surgeon what is going on.

    post op drinking

You may find that you are swollen so you will not be able to drink as quickly. Just make sure you sip all day long and you should be fine.

    What's the Pre-Op Appointment like?

During my preop appointment we just went over what to expect. I believe I was weighed and a photograph was also taken of me. No biggie.
  17. Solid protein will really help you stay focused. It will keep you from snacking because it keeps you fuller fast. I must say my emotional eating has changed dramatically. I no longer binge like I use to. good luck.

    Lapband Vs. Hunger

I agree with Jachut, I still feel that full sensation. I just eat a whole lot less. When you have good restriction you will know.
  19. You will be fine. It just shows your struggle, nothing more. I wouldn't worry about it.

I need a major pep talk

Try and stay focused. Eat creamy soups. They are allowed. Anything that can fit through a straw is allowed. That will keep you more satisfied.
  21. There is another form of Wellbutrin that can be cut up. That is the one I take. I can actually get it down whole though.

    Another Newbie!!

Congrats on getting your banding date. You will love being banded.

    Skinny Feet!!!

I haven't lost 100 lbs. I am down about 85 since my preop diet. I definitely feel the difference in my shoes. I am not down a size but they are looser.

    Pretend Banding

I see the biggest difference with the amount of hunger I had. That may be difficult for you. Eating like a bandster is like eating 1-2 oz at a time, no more. I also don't snack much. I try and stay to 3 meals a day and nothing more. Good luck.

    Question about surgery day

Mine was an overnight stay as well. When I checked in I asked for an anti anxiety drug so that helped. I didn't see my surgeon before surgery just the anastesthialogist. I was under for about an hour I think. The most difficult part was the tube down the throat for breathing. I had a terrible sore throat afterwards. Surgery was easy.
