  4. Hi i just wanted to tell u that u look awesome. Do u have any tips u could share w/ me? I was abnded on aug 17,09

  5. Hey just wondering how tall you are? And I notice you live in SD..I'm like directly north of you in Fargo.

  6. wow 180 !! girl you are rock-en ! keep it up .. your almost there

  7. First of all CONGRATS on your surgery date!!!! That is so exciting! Try and stay positive & not try and dwell on other peoples "bad" experiences. Everyone is different, as for me I had no complications during & after surgery. My face started getting skinner quite soon after surgery, everyone notices it, I don't so much but thats because i'm around myself too much haha :) My main advice is to keep positive, it is easy to get yourself in a rut but, just try try try to think positive. Congrats again, I hope the band will treat you as well as it has for me so far! It is definitely the best decision i've made :) Good Luck!

  8. I'm scheduled for surgery next friday May 8th. I hope mine goes smoothly as I've read some not so good stories on here?

Did you find that your face started getting skinnier soon after your surgery? My fear has been that the shrinking of my cheeks was going to be the hardest... hopefully not.

  9. The band has definitely changed my life and it has been the best decision i've made in my life. If you want the band to work for you, you have to make it work, its up to you! My scars are not bad, the smaller ones are becoming really un-noticable. The large on that is in the middle of my stomach (where the port is) you can see clearly but, i'm sure that it will go away. THe scars are truely the last thing on my mind & its just a little reminder :)

  10. It has been both hard and easy to lose the weight. The hard part has been not eating, since I was a food addict I would eat when I was bored, nervous, upset, etc even when I wasn't hungry. It's been hard to restrain myself from eating all of the time. The easy part has been getting the determination to keep going, every time I look at the scale and its lower then what it was & when i put my really loose jeans on it makes me keep going! Yes the band is just a tool, there is truely no "easy" way to lose weight. My doctor drilled that into my head, this is just a tool. And you have to use the tool right in order for it to work for you. You have to eat healthy & less; and you have to exercise. Without the band there is no way that I could have lost 40 pounds in 4 months. It has allowed me to eat less, I finally knwo what full feels like, before the band i would never get full so I would eat ALOT even if it was healthy food.

  11. Hi,

how easy or hard was it for you tolose the weight?

i went to the first step and i got scared off they say its just a tool and you still haveto work hard..so im tring to lose it my self but im not getting very far...could you of did this your self with out the band?

and how are your scars i see everyone has something alittle differnt

    thanks jen

  12. hey you are doing so well!!! I am getting ready to have my surgery what is your best advice to do and the thing that would be the worst to do that you wish you didnt do?!?!

    Curious?

I was hanging out with my boyfriend and two of his friends, one of the friends knew I had the lap band. I was talking about how I was going in for a fill in a couple days and the friend who didn't know I had the lap band told me that having the lap band or gastric bypass is the "lazy" and "easy" way out. This shocked me because he was the first one to tell me that; i wasn't quite sure what to say. It angered me and I told him that this was no way the "easy" way out and he wouldn't know. He continued to tell me his beliefs, telling me he was right and I was wrong; he wouldn't take in consideration anything I was saying. Have any of you experienced people saying this to you? And, if, what do/did you say back to them? :mad2:
  14. HI! How are you doing? I was looking at your pics & we have about the same starting & goal weights! Keep it up!!! You look great!!!
